How To Download a Movie and Burn It to a DVD

You can learn how to burn a downloaded movie onto a DVD disc.Both Windows and Mac computers can be used to do this.Make sure you don't break any anti-piracy laws when you download a movie.

Step 1: You can find the movie you want to download.

You can find movies on any file-sharing site.Before you can legally download the movie, you'll have to purchase it.You can use torrent sites to download movies.

Step 2: The movie should be safe to download.

Check the ratings, look at what other users have said, and verify the website's safety.The format of the video should work on your computer with your video player.

Step 3: You can check the video's attributes.

If the quality and language of the video doesn't match your expectations, you'll need to download a different version.

Step 4: You can download the movie.

There is a button near the movie.The button will vary from site to site, so look for links and arrows as well as actual buttons.Depending on your browser's settings, you may have to select a download location before the file will actually download.Make sure the button you click is the download button, not a pop-up ad.The download button will usually be a link.

Step 5: Wait for the movie to finish.

You can burn the movie on your computer once it finishes being downloaded.

Step 6: There is a blank DVD-R in your computer's CD tray.

The logo-side-up has to be blank for this to work.The CD tray has to be able to burn discs.You can tell if your computer's CD tray can burn DVDs by looking for the "DVD" logo on or near the tray.

Step 7: The start is open.

The Windows logo can be found in the bottom- left corner of the screen.

Step 8: You can open file explorer.

The folder icon can be found in the lower- left side of the Start window.

Step 9: You can choose a file location.

Click on the folder that you downloaded the movie from.

Step 10: You can choose your movie.

Click on the movie you want to see.

Step 11: Click to share.

There is a tab on the left side of the window.The top of the window has a toolbar below it.

Step 12: Click on the disc to burn it.

There is a "Send" section on the left side of the toolbar.The window will open.

Step 13: Click to burn.

It is at the top of the window.You will be able to watch your movie on DVD.Depending on the size of the movie and your computer's burn speed, this process can take several minutes to an hour.

Step 14: When prompted, click finish.

There is a window at the bottom.You can test your DVD in a DVD player of your choice after you click on the button.

Step 15: Plug an external DVD writer into your computer.

Since most Macs don't have disc trays anymore, you'll need to buy an external DVD drive and attach it to your computer via a cable.Before buying a DVD reader, make sure it can burn or write discs.If your Mac is one of the most recent models, you'll need to buy ausb3 tousb-c adapter.If your Mac already has a DVD drive, skip this step.

Step 16: You can put a blank DVD-R into your CD tray.

The DVD needs to be blank and logo-side-up for this to work.

Step 17: Go.

There is a menu item at the top of the screen.Clicking on it will lead to a drop-down menu.Click your desktop or the Finder to appear if you don't see it.

Step 18: You can click the utilities.

The drop-down menu has this near it.The window will open.

Step 19: Click Disk Utility.

There is a stethoscope on the hard drive icon.You can open the Disk Utility window by doing that.

Step 20: Click to burn.

There is a radioactive symbol at the top of the window.

Step 21: There is a file location.

Click the folder you saved the movie in.There is a folder on the left side of the Finder window.

Step 22: You can choose your movie.

Click the movie file to open it.

Step 23: Click burn.

The window is in the bottom-right corner.

Step 24: When prompted, click Burn.

There is a pop-up menu near the top of the Disk Utility window.The movie will burn onto the DVD.

Step 25: Click OK if prompted.

It is in the bottom-right corner of the window.You can test your DVD in your preferred DVD player after you remove it from your computer.
