How To Fingerpaint

Although there are many types of painting, finger painting is the most accessible and enjoyable for children.Finger painting is a great activity for people of all ages and is often used as a learning tool. The rules are simple, and you don't need a lot of materials.Even this rule can be broken. The main goal is to have fun.

Step 1: You should cover the area you plan to paint.

Since finger painting can get messy, especially for children, you should cover your work area with something you can throw away. You can use anything from newspapers to plastic. There is less chance of getting paint on things if you paint outside.

Step 2: Put tape on your paper.

Keeping your paper in place while you use your fingers or hands to paint is more difficult than using a paintbrush. The corners of your paper should be tapped down to prevent future messes and smudges. If you plan to paint outside, this is a good idea because the wind might blow your paper away.Try to use a tape that is easy to remove.

Step 3: Put your paints and water in a container.

You will need a small bowl of water and jars of finger paint to clean your fingers. It is best to have them close to your paper for easy access. If working with children, it is best to remove the small bowl of water before painting so they are less likely to knock it over.

Step 4: Take care of your hands.

You don't want to get dirt on your picture if you wash your hands before painting. You can dip the tips of your fingers into the water. They should be slightly wet, but not dripping. This will make it easier to apply the paint to the paper.

Step 5: Pick your colors.

Most finger paint sets have rainbow colors along with black, brown, and white. If you want a different color, you can mix some of your paints together. If you want a darker green, try mixing it with a black or brown color.Make sure the jars are relatively coated after dipping the tips of your fingers into them. You don't want to ruin the original colors if you mix it in a separate bowl or tin.You should use a separate paper to test out your new color.

Step 6: Start painting.

There are no rules with finger painting outside of using your fingers, so feel free to paint whatever you want.Simply place your fingers or hands on your paper and use them like a paint brush, once you have chosen what to paint and what colors to use.The sides of your fingers can be used to paint.A different type of shape is created by each part of your hand.Try them all.

Step 7: Allow your painting to dry.

Due to the water and paint on the paper, you want to let it dry out before doing anything with it.It is likely that the painting will get air or sun without being knocked over.In case the paint runs, you should put it on top of a newspaper. The time it takes your painting to dry will vary depending on how much paint is used, however, you should wait at least 5 minutes.

Step 8: You should wipe off your hands.

All paint used for finger painting should be washed off with soap and water, but a wet rag, baby wipes, or any other safe cleaning agent will work.Don't worry about getting all the paint off first as you will likely get more on your hands cleaning everything else up.

Step 9: Take your clothes off.

Place the dirty items in a place where they can't get anything else dirty. If you want to get rid of excess paint before washing them, you can use a damp cloth or baby wipes. You should not wash this clothing with anything else.

Step 10: You should clean up your area.

Make sure your paints are closed tightly when you put the lid back on them. Before you put them away, you should wipe them down. You can throw old newspapers in the trash. If you used a plastic table cloth or tarp, you can either wipe them down with a wet rag or take them outside and hose them off.
