How to fix a flat couch is explained in The Honeycomb Home

Does your couch have weird cushions? If you want to learn how to fix flat couch cushions, read on.

Our sofa has been with us for several years. The back cushions were showing signs of wear and tear.I figured out a way to fix the couch because I still love it.

I realized this is a common problem for people after researching it.You are going to see wear and tear on the cushions eventually.

The post on how to fix sagging cushions pointed me in the right direction.I decided to try high density upholstery foam.

The best foam density for a couch is around 1.8, which is the industry standard.I was looking for a thickness of 4′′ and this foam was the closest I could find, so I bought 1.5.I bought way too much.I was not sure how long I needed.Half of it would be plenty.

The cushion covers are easy to remove.Below you can see how the cushion inserts have become.

I cut the foam into strips and did a little at a time, after trying a few different ways of stuffing the cushions. The cut foam was molded around the inside edges of the covers.

It helped to push the original insert more together. The same cushion is used.

The couch looks new again after it was worked on.I don't think the couch will be prone to sagging again because of the firm foam.

I only needed to use it on the back couch cushions, but I think it would work well on seat cushions as well.

The sofa saver is an option for sagging seat cushions. It is also available in loveseat sizes. It would be worth a try if it was affordable.

It took me less than an hour to fix it.The foam is holding up well a month later. The foam is less expensive than a new couch.
