How To Fix an Upset Stomach

There are many reasons why you might be upset. It's silly to go to a doctor if you don't like something. The nausea can be kept at bay with some ideas.

Step 1: Try not to eat too much.

Something light and simple might calm your stomach. You can eat yogurt, bland crackers or high fiber foods. It's best to avoid spicy foods, dairy, and anything with a strong scent.Don't force it if the thought of food makes you cringe. You might make things worse.

Step 2: Drink something.

It is possible that your stomachache is a result of dehydration. An herbal tea is an alternative to water. It has a lot of minerals that calm your stomach. It's important that you stay hydrated if you're puking.Your body is losing fluid at an alarming rate and it should be replaced as soon as possible. If neither of these options are available, try ginger beer or flat soda.It was flat! It's not the fresh kind.

Step 3: Go for the BRAT diet.

BRAT stands for ananas, ice, pplesauce and oast. There are other bland foods you can add to the BRAT diet.Saltine crackers, boiled potatoes, and clear soups are examples of things you can try.Don't start eating dairy products right away. These foods may cause more nausea. This may not be good for children. The BRAT diet does not have enough nutrition to help a child's gastrointestinal tract.Within 24 hours of getting sick, the American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that kids eat a normal, well-balanced diet.A mix of fruits, vegetables, meat, yogurt, and complex carbohydrates should be in that diet.

Step 4: Go to the bathroom.

Take a book or something to distract you from the pain. You might have to wait.

Step 5: Vomit.

The pain won't go away until you throw up.If your stomach pain doesn't stop within a few hours, induce vomiting. It won't be your most fashionable accessory, but keep a bucket nearby. You'll be happy you don't have to go to the bathroom. If you still have pain after eating or vomiting, you should call your doctor.Take your temperature and watch your other symptoms as well.

Step 6: Rest from time to time.

Motion does nothing for you when you're already sick.Get comfortable while lying down.Stay motionless if that's not an option. This applies to babies and children as well. When the same can't be said for the insides, all ages benefit from outside stability.

Step 7: You should visit your doctor.

Your upset stomach is a symptom of a bigger problem. If you experience nausea for an extended period of time, you need to call a doctor.Within a few hours, most upset stomachs resolve themselves.Look for other symptoms if yours persists. You should consider a doctor visit if they are present.
