How To Free Photo Space on iPhone or iPad

You can learn how to free up space for photos on an iPad by using the iCloud Photo Library, as well as changing your recording settings.

Step 1: Open the settings on your device.

The grey gear icon is on one of your Home screens or in a folder called "Utilities".

Step 2: To find the fourth group of options, scroll to the bottom of the page.

Step 3: Select photos.

Step 4: The photo library switch can be moved to the "On" position.

The green color indicates that your entire Camera Roll is uploaded to the cloud.To work on your device, you'll need enough storage in your account for your entire library to fit.The My Photo Stream switch can be turned off if you want to eat up photo space.

Step 5: Go to the settings app.

You can remove duplicate photos from your phone after your photos are uploaded to your photo library.

Step 6: Take a look at your iPad's Photos.

One of your Home screens has a multicolored pinwheel icon.Check your folders as well if you can't find the Photos app on your Home screens.

Step 7: There are albums that you can tap.

You can see this in the bottom right corner of the screen.

Step 8: You can choose an album.

Camera Roll is located in the top left corner of the page and can be used to view all of your photos in one place.

Step 9: You can tap select.

You can see this in the top right corner of your screen.

Step 10: To remove a photo, select it from the list.

Step 11: The trash can has an icon.

It is in the bottom right corner of the screen.

Step 12: There are photos that you want to remove.

The button will change depending on how many photos you have.The button will read "Delete 12 Photos."

Step 13: There are albums that you can tap.

This can be found in the top left corner of the screen.

Step 14: Go to the album and select it.

Step 15: You can tap select.

Step 16: Go to the menu and remove all.

It is in the bottom left corner of the screen.

Step 17: There are photos that you want to remove.

It will clear up space for more photos to follow if you permanently remove your selected photos from your phone.

Step 18: Open your device's settings.

The grey gear icon is either on one of your Home screens or in the "Utilities" folder.

Step 19: Select Photos & Camera from the sixth group of options.

Step 20: You can scroll to the bottom of the menu.

Step 21: The Keep Normal Photo switch can be moved to the "Off" position.

It should be green.If you do this, you will prevent your phone from keeping the normal exposure of a photo that was taken with HDR enabled, which will cut down on the amount of space each individual photo takes.

Step 22: Select the video that you want to record.

It is in the "Camera" group of options.

Step 23: You can select a recording resolution.

Not all of the devices have every option listed here, such as 720p HD at 30 frames per second, which takes up 60 MB per minute.130 MB per minute is how much the HD at 30 frames per second takes.165 MB per minute is the amount of HD at 60 frames per second.350 MB per minute is the amount of 4K at 30 frames per second.

Step 24: You can tap on the photos and camera.

This is on the left side of the screen.

Step 25: You can record slow-mo.

iPad Pro users will not see this option.

Step 26: You can choose a slow-mo resolution.

350 MB per minute is what your options include.300 MB per minute is the resolution of the 720p HD.

Step 27: You can exit the settings app.

The videos will be recorded in a lower resolution.If you shoot a lot of video, this will affect the amount of space your videos take up.

Step 28: Open your device's camera.

One of your Home screens has a camera-shaped icon.The Control Center can be opened with a tap on the camera icon in the bottom right corner.

Step 29: The circle is at the top of the screen.

The "Live Photos" feature will be disabled.A doubling of the Live Photos feature will clear up a lot of room for future photos.You will not have this option if you don't have an older model of the device.The Live Photos feature is disabled if this circle is white.

Step 30: You can tap the option.

The Live Photos circle is to the left.The "High Dynamic Range" setting will be disabled if you tap it.It's already disabled if it has a slash through it.
