How To Hide Folders in Google Drive

You don't need to hide your files since they are protected by your account password.You can prevent someone from seeing your files by unsharing them.You can learn how to stop sharing and hide your files in the web and your mobile app.

Step 1: Go to Google Drive.

The app icon looks like a triangle.You can find it in the app drawer or on one of your Home screens.

Step 2: Next to the folder you want to make private, tap.

If there are multiple profile icons in the lower right corner of the folder's thumbnail, you'll be able to tell which folder is shared.To see only files that are shared with others, you can tap the shared tab at the bottom of your screen.

Step 3: You can tap to manage people and links.

If you have the necessary permission, it's usually the second item in the menu.

Step 4: You can hide the folder by tapping the users that you want to hide from.

You have to repeat this process with everyone if your folder is shared with more than one person.

Step 5: You can remove it by tapping.

It's next to an icon and will remove someone from seeing your folder.

Step 6: Go to www.drive.google.com.

If prompted, log in.You can change your sharing settings in any web browser.

Step 7: Click on the shared folder to make it private.

The folder will load with a list of files.To get a menu without opening it, right-click the folder.

Step 8: You can click on the multiple profile icons.

It is located at the top of the folder next to "My Drive" and will open a sharing window.Click to see the same window if you right-clicked earlier.

Step 9: Click the drop-down menu to the right of the name you want to remove.

You will need to repeat this process for everyone if the folder is shared with more than one person.

Step 10: Click to save.

You can close the window and save your changes.The people you removed from the folder will no longer be able to see it.
