How to install a double pole thermostat on a wall on 220V.

The first step is Step 1.Lock or tag the panel door to prevent anyone from turning on the power while you install the thermostat.

Failure to turn off all electrical power can cause serious electrical shock, burns, or death.

Step 3.Only one factory connection is allowed on the side you have open.

Step 4.If you haven't already done so, connect the supply grounding wire to the green grounding screw.

Step 5.If you don't already have it, route the wire from the circuit breaker to the thermostat wiring box.

Step 6.In the thermostat wiring box, connect the circuit breaker to the ground wire.If possible, connect the ground to the thermostat or wiring box.

Step 7.The hot supply wire needs to be connected to the thermostat wires. This is usually marked as L1 or Line.

Step 8.The remaining thermostat wire should be connected to the same color supply wire.

Step 9.The white wire coming from the circuit breaker should be connected to the color wire feeding the baseboard heater.

Step 7.The thermostat wire one is marked L1 or Line and the hot supply wire is typically black.

Step 8.The second thermostat wire should be connected to the white supply wire.

Step 9.One of the thermostat wires should be connected to the black wire that leads into the heater.

Step 10.The remaining thermostat wire should be connected to the remaining white wire.

There is a step 10/11.Take the wires out of the wiring compartment and put the thermostat in the wall.

Step 12.In the junction box, connect the supply wire from the thermostat to the loose heater wire. The junction box cover needs to be replaced.
