I was asked to install a swinging butler door.We had to change out a 6-panel solid wood swinging door for a glass door.

It is a floor mounted hinge with spring tension that allows a door to swing in or out of a room and return to the closed position when let go.

The homeowner had Creative Design solutions help with their project.

The goal was to create a larger room effect by installing a clear glass door.

The existing hardware for the doors has a double acting spring pivot and was in great condition. The brass decorative cover plate was used to reuse it.

This door had a different pivot point than the hinges that my lumber yard carries.

There is a picture of newer hardware. The older hinge looks better than the newer models in my opinion. The top pivot plate was the only exception to what I think is less quality. The new top pivot plate seems to be beefier.Below are pictures.
