How To Keep Mosquitoes Away at Night

On warm nights, the buzzing and biting of mosquitoes can be a problem, whether you are enjoying the outdoors with family and friends or just trying to sleep. The best way to repel mosquitoes is to get rid of the stagnant water.Pretreating the garden with a backyard repellent is one of the things you can do.Fly screens and sleep under a mosquito net will keep mosquitoes at bay.

Step 1: The water in your garden needs to be removed.

The whole garden should be checked for puddles of water in toys, plates, and children's pools. If you want to prevent mosquitoes from breeding in your home, you have to remove all of the stagnant water. The unused tires, trash cans, and bird baths are places where stagnant water can be found. If your garden has areas of stagnant water that can't be removed, it's a good idea to stay away from these areas at night and keep any outdoor events as far away as possible.Don't worry about mosquitoes in your pool. The mosquitoes won't be attracted to it if the filter is working properly and it is chlorinated.

Step 2: When you will be outside at night, apply insect repellent.

Be sure to read the label carefully and apply it as needed. It should be put on children over 2 months.DEET, picaridin, lemon or eucalyptus oil are all effective against mosquitoes. It could irritate your eyes if you spray it directly on your face.Rub it on your face after spraying it onto your hands.

Step 3: It's important to cover your skin up.

You should wear clothes and shoes that cover your legs and arms.If possible, stick to light colors as mosquitoes are attracted to dark colors. The heat in summer makes lightweight clothes practical.

Step 4: Don't wear strong smelling products.

A lot of strong perfumes and colognes can attract mosquitoes. You can save these products for when the weather is cooler.A floral scent is attractive to mosquitoes.

Step 5: It's a good idea to treat any outdoor areas that you plan on using.

Attach the bottle to the hose and spray the garden. This is done before you plan to use the area at night. Before you use it, read the label to make sure it's safe to use around kids and pets. The mosquitoes will be repelled from the outdoor area.

Step 6: There are geraniol or citronella candles in the outdoor area.

Place the candles around the area that you will be using at night.Candles can be hung or placed on a surface. The most popular natural repellants for mosquitoes are citronella, geraniol, and neem oil.

Step 7: The window screens should be installed.

You can buy preassembled screens from home improvement stores, or you can make your own with a fitted frame and screen. You can either install the window screens yourself or hire a professional to do it for you.During the warm summer months, window screens allow you to keep the window open slightly, but still keep out bugs.If you want to keep mosquitoes out of your house, place window screens on bedroom windows.

Step 8: Put the door strips in place.

There is a large gap between the door and the strip on the bottom of it.Installation is done by cutting a strip and attaching it to the door. It's easy to place door strips.Home improvement stores sell door strips.Keeping the air in is an added benefit of door strips. The temperature of the room is not likely to be influenced by the outdoor temperature.

Step 9: There is a mosquito net.

If you want to protect your head and upper half of your body, hang a mosquito net over your bed.You can buy nets that are treated with an insecticidal agent. The mosquitoes can land on the net and still bite you if there is a gap between it and your skin.

Step 10: The air should be moved by turning a fan on.

It is difficult for mosquitoes to fly when the air is shifted by a ceiling or a fan.During warm summer nights, it will help to keep you cool.Carbon dioxide can be moved away from you by a fan, because mosquitoes are attracted to it.

Step 11: A smokeless mosquito coil can be used.

Allow the mosquito vaporizer to run for a couple of hours before you sleep.A timing device can be used to switch off.The mosquitoes in the room will be dead by the time you go to sleep.Plug-in mosquito vaporizers are an alternative to mosquito coils. There are no health risks associated with using these.
