How To Learn Cardistry

Step 4: The angle move is used to pick up a card.

First, make a "Z" formation.To create the fourth section, split the third section of cards in half.To form 3 sections again, swing the third section downward and bring it under the second section.This sequence needs to be repeated again to complete the cut.To make the "Z" formation, hold the deck in 1 hand and use your other hand to lift half of it up so that it looks like a "" shape.Then repeat the process with the top half of the deck, leaving a few cards in the center to connect the 2 halves and make a "Z" shape.To break the deck into 4 sections, keep the second and third sections connected with your thumb and use your index finger to lift the top of the third section to make the fourth section.The first section should be in your palm.To swing the third section of cards downward, keep the second, third, and fourth sections connected with your thumb and turn your wrist.The first and second sections should stay upright and the third and fourth should be upside down.The top card of the deck is the same as you perform the cut.

Step 7: Start with a cardistry trainer deck.

It is easier to use a trainer deck when you are used to handling the cards, as there are less cards to pick up if you drop the deck.Purchase a cardistry trainer deck online.If using a real deck is too difficult when you first start, use it to practice different grips and cuts.A cardistry trainer deck is made from 9 pieces of plastic.You don't have to worry about picking up 52 individual cards if you drop the deck.A trainer deck is the same size as a regular deck of cards.You don't need to worry about bending or breaking the trainer decks because they are verydurable.

Step 8: You can get several decks of cheap cards if you feel more confident.
