How To Make a Capo with Office Materials

While work should be done, are you jamming with your work mates? You can make your own capo for less than half the retail price using supplies found in your office drawer. The guitarist can use capos to switch keys without learning funky shapes.

Step 1: You have to get the base.

The part that makes contact with the strings is the base of the capo.Depending on the office supplies you have lying around, there are a few options for the base.A pen, marker, or pencil can be used. The base of your capo should be long enough to cover the width of the fretboard. If you have a short pencil, you can test it by comparing its length to the width of the fretboard.

Step 2: There is a tying device.

You can connect the base of the capo to the guitar. The tying component has enough force to hold the strings. You can either use a strong elastic band or a piece of string. If you use an elastic band, make sure it is strong enough to hold the base against the strings. The elastic band needs to be stretched.Make sure it does not break on the first test.

Step 3: You need to set up your guitar.

Before attaching the capo, you need to tune up your guitar. You can either tune to standard tuning or an alternative tuning. If you want the most effective tuning, use a chromatic tuner.

Step 4: The band should be connected to the capo.

The band or string should be tied to the base. There is a knot near the edge of the base. The permanent knot is useful for fitting the capo to the guitar. You can loop the elastic band around your base.Attach the guitar by detaching the loop.

Step 5: The capo needs to be connected to the guitar.

Put the base across the guitar neck and loop the other end of the band around it.This will hold the base over the strings. It needs to be attached securely. You might need to double loop the elastic band to increase the pressure. The strings need to be pressed across the fret with high pressure.

Step 6: It's good to read the tightness.

Make it tighter by tying a knot on one end of the band. The strings should be pressed against each other. The capo can be tested by playing a few notes. If the open strings sound good when you play the capo, you should. The notes that are affected by the capo are the open strings.
