How To Make a Racing Game in PowerPoint

Do you know anything about PowerPoint but only use it for a presentation?Do you want to play and create games, but don't know how to program?Do you want to learn about more features of PowerPoint in a fun and engaging way?You will learn how to make a racing game in this guide. The way it works is that the player has to trace the race tracks in PowerPoint as quickly as possible. The player has to finish each track in order to advance to the next challenge.

Step 1: The player needs to click within the starting area to get to the next slide.

Click on "On Mouse Click" to switch to the advance slide.

Step 2: Start slide.

Give the player instructions on how to play and decorate the starting page with pictures.Use clip art or word art to add a starting zone, then hyperlink it to the next slide.

Step 3: Track boundaries can be set with a background.

The first racetrack will be a blank slide. The slide should be covered by a rectangle. The players won't be able to take shortcut off the tracks. When the player's mouse goes off the tracks, they will be sent to the next slide, which is a "game over" page that we will create later.

Step 4: The track should be designed.

The start button from the previous slide should be put in this slide. This area is where the player's cursor will start. If you copy and paste the image from the previous slide, they will be the same position, but you will need to remove the hyperlink on this new one.Blocks of different shapes should be inserted into Shapes to form a path. You can move them by holding down the green circle. You can make a turn in the opposite direction by flipping them.A finishing area is indicated by a checker flag icon.

Step 5: The tricky part.

The race animation was created. At the start of the racetrack, place a flag icon to represent the driver. It needs to be less than the width of the racetrack. To add its custom motion path, click down the arrow to go to the bottom of the page.Press Esc to finish when you're done with the last path point.Stay in the center of the track.

Step 6: It is possible to modify the animation.

The animation starts as soon as the slide loads if you choose "With Previous" from the "Start:" method drop box.The difficulty can be adjusted by changing how fast the driver finishes the race. The longer the animation, the harder the game becomes. The Preview button is at the top left.If you don't remove the "Smooth end" feature, it will appear as if the driver slows down near the finish line.Click the little expansion button to call up the custom path configuration window.

Step 7: The start button should be at the front.

Click start button if you want to bring forward or bring to front.

Step 8: The losing condition needs to be set.

Set the timer to transition to the next slide at the same time you set the finish time for the driver. The advance slide on the mouse should be disabled to prevent cheating.

Step 9: The page says "game over".

Word Art can be used to print out "GAME Over" and "Exit Hyperlink" to end the show."Advance Slide On Mouse Click" should be checked to prevent cheating.

Step 10: You can add more tracks.

Add more racetrack slides by following steps 3 and 10.The finishing zone of the previous track should be the same as the starting zone.If you want to reuse the same slide, you can copy and paste after the next racetrack slide.

Step 11: The winning page should be created.

Once you have enough tracks, add a finishing slide with a message such as "You won!"Winning conditions can be set to connect the tracks.Mouseover will hyperlink the finishing zone of each track slide to the next slide. If you want to select the next slide or the winning slide, you need to do this for every finishing zone on the racetrack slide.
