Making art by folding paper is fun.If you have some folding skills, you can make a paper spaceship at home.You can make a fun paper toy out of a spaceship and pilot it around the world.
Step 1: Take a piece of paper and fold it in half.
The long edges of the paper should be on the sides if you set it on a flat surface.To make it look like a hot dog bun, fold the paper in half.Before you crease your fold, make sure the edges and corners are straight.
Step 2: To get to the left side of the paper, take the top right corner.
Before you move on, make sure your piece of paper is vertical.Pull the top right corner toward you.Use the left side of the paper to line up the top edge.To crease it, press along the folded edge.A triangle should be on top of your paper.When folding your paper, make sure the edges are lined up.If the paper is creased and the edges are not straight, your spaceship won't fold easily.
Step 3: The point is on the left side.
Take the top corner of the triangle and put it on the piece of paper.To make a small triangle, line up the folded corner with the top right corner.To make a crease, press down along the fold.A straight line should be formed on the bottom of the triangle when you folded over the edge.
Step 4: The folds should be on the other side.
Make a triangle out of the paper by rotating it 180 degrees.The edge of the paper should line up with the left side.The triangle should be lined up with the top right corner by folding the point down.To crease them, press along the folds.
Step 5: To see the crease, unfold the paper.
You can flatten the paper again by undoing the triangles you made.You can see the X-shape on each side of the paper.If the crease isn't visible, try folding the paper again and pressing harder along the edges.
Step 6: To form triangle bases, pinch the sides of each X.
With your thumb and index finger, grab the left and right sides of the piece of paper.Pull the top edge of the paper over your fingers.The sides will collapse as you fold them.The paper should be turned around to the other side.If you can't squeeze the sides in, unfold the paper and try again.
Step 7: The sides of the triangle should be folded toward the center.
The triangle on the bottom of the paper is pointing towards you.The left corner of the top triangle should be folded over to line up with the point in the middle.To make a diamond shape, repeat the process with the right corner.
Step 8: The long sides should be folded onto the center.
Your folds should be face down if you turn your paper over.If you want the paper to line up with the top point of the triangle, fold it in half.To form a crease, press the fold firmly.Take the opposite side of the paper and put it in the center.The folds should look like a long object.Do not fold over the corners of the other triangle.
Step 9: Bring the triangle base toward the diamond shape by turning over the paper.
The triangles should be face up when you flip over the bottom of the paper.The point of the triangle is about 2 inch from the diamond's bottom.Make sure the fold stays in place.If the fold doesn't want to stay after you press with your finger, you can flatten it by using your thumbnail or the side of a pen.
Step 10: The diamond shape needs to be Tucked between the triangle base.
The top and bottom triangle should be folded over.Put the corners of the diamond shape into the folds between your triangles.This will add a cool design to your spaceship.
Step 11: You can make the windows of your spaceship by folding the edges of the top piece.
If you want the triangle to line up with the point, take one of the edges and fold it in half.The paper should come up at a slight angle.The center edges of the triangle should be aligned by folding the other side.These folds look like windows.
Step 12: The wings should be bent up.
The back of the ship has 2 wings.Take the end of the wing and fold it back.Make sure the back edge is lined up.Make your spaceship look faster by adding points to your wings on the other side.If you want you can keep the wings straight.
Step 13: Remove the back of the ship.
The back of the ship looks like tail fins if you bend the edge.You can hold onto the back edge of the ship to play with it.
