Step 1: You can buy a fold over elastic.

Step 4: The elastic has to be knotted.
Hold the ends together and fold them into a loop.The ends must be pulled through the loop.To tighten the knot, gently tug on the ends of the elastic to make sure it's the right size.
Step 5: If you want, finish off the ends.
Your elastic ribbon hair tie is done.If you want a nicer touch, cut the ends above the knot.Hold the ends close to a flame to seal them.
