How To Master Hair Cutting Techniques

Time, practice, and patience are required for haircutting.A set of basic skills is required before you can execute a haircut. There are five and seven sections to divide hair into. It's important to create a layered look or a blunt cut.Prepare to create face framing layers and perfectly trimmed bangs.

Step 1: Wet the hair.

Warm water is needed to fill a spray bottle.Your hair should be damp and not dripping with the warm mist.Carefully remove snarls and knots from the locks by using a fine tooth comb.A spray bottle is a good place to keep it.Re-wet the hair as it dries.

Step 2: The hair should be divided into five sections.

Clients with an average to thinner hair use the five-section part. The hair goes down the center of the head from the forehead to the skull. The hair has to be at the top of the ears. The top box and two side sections are on the top of the head.Attach the section with a hair clip. The hair is at the base of the ears. The section at the base of your skull will be created by this.Attach the section with a hair clip. The right sections should be even with the left sections.

Step 3: If the hair is thicker, divide it into seven sections.

There is a 12 inch band of loose hair at the back of the head. The hair should be parted in a straight line from behind one ear to behind the other. You can make a part on each side of the head along the parietal ridge. You can section off the hair on the top of the head with this.Attach the hair to the top of the head with a clip. The hair on the left and right sides of the head needs to be clipped. The hair goes down the center of the crown. If you want to separate the left and right crown sections, part the hair from behind the ear to the center part.Attach the two sections.Pull the hair at the nape of the neck into a left and a right section.

Step 4: The hair should be divided into five or seven sections.

Before starting this hair cut, cut the hair into sections. You need to unclip each section at a time.A 12 inch section of hair needs to be removed.

Step 5: The first travelling guide will be created.

The bottom section should be unclipped.Take a small piece of hair from your bottom section. The first travel guide will be this segment. The most recent cut segment of hair in a section assumes the role of the traveling guide. The ruler is held up to the next segment of hair.Determine how long the bottom layer is.The shorter the hair, the smaller the difference in the layers should be.2 to 4 inches on long hair and 1/2 an inch to 1 inch on shorter hair are the thickness of the 3 layers. The segment should be between the middle finger of your non-dominant hand.Pull the segment at a 90 angle until your fingers reach your desired hair length. The excess hair can be trimmed with shears. You can always go shorter if you cut between 12 inch and 2 inches off.

Step 6: The section should be cut in half.

Measure the length of the next segment using the most recently cut segment of hair. The next segment of hair should be between your middle and forefinger.Pull the hair at a 90 angle until you reach the end of the guide. The new hair should be the same length as the traveling guide. The travelling guide is a freshly cut segment.Continue until the entire section is cut.Your trim should be checked periodically. The evenness of the cut can be checked by pulling the hair in multiple directions. Before moving onto the next section of hair, you need to trim any unevenly cut pieces.

Step 7: Determine the length of the second layer.

Hang over the bottom layer if you unclip the left section. To determine how much hair to trim off the second layer, use the bottom layer. The bottom and middle layers can be different in length and width.

Step 8: The left segment should be cut.

You can get a small segment of hair at the front left side. The hair should be pulled straight at the 90 angle. If you want to cut off the ends of the hair, you have to move your fingers towards them. The hair needs to be trimmed. The traveling guide can cut the rest of the section.

Step 9: The right section should be cut.

Cut the right section. There is a small segment of hair on the left and right sides of your travel guide.Pull the segments between your middle and forefinger at a 90 angle. At the end of the left segment, stop your fingers. The hair should be trimmed from the right segment. The traveling guide can cut the rest of the section.

Step 10: The length of the top layer is determined.

Let the top section hang over the middle layer. You can use the layers below to figure out the length of your top layer. The middle and top layers may be different in length.

Step 11: The top section needs to be cut.

Take a small piece of hair from the top of the head. The hair should be pulled straight at the 90 angle. You can cut off the ends of the hair with your fingers. The excess hair needs to be trimmed. The traveling guide can help cut the rest of the section.

Step 12: Prepare the hair by wet, comb, and part it.

The hair should be sprayed with water. The hair needs to be untangled with a comb.Ask your client where they typically part their hair. The hair needs to be combed until it is flat.

Step 13: There is a section off the fringe area.

There is a fringe along the perimeter of the front. The hair is from the left to the right side. The section should lie in front of the face.

Step 14: You can create layers with a razor or scissors.

Allow the hair to hang in front of the face.Use a razor for soft ends or scissors for blunt layers.Ask your client how long they would like their top layer to be.The razor or scissors can be used to create a curved cutting line.Begin at the shortest point of the face framing layers and cut at a slight angle towards the ends of hair.

Step 15: The hair should be in five or seven sections.

The hair can be sprayed with water.Remove knots with a comb through the saturated hair.Take the hair out of five or seven sections. You need to unclip each section at a time.Remove a 12 inch section of hair along the perimeter of the head by unclipping one section at a time.

Step 16: The front hair needs to be cut.

The hair must be combed over the front of the face.As you determine the length of the hair, allow it to hang.Without pulling on the hair, hold a one inch section above the point at which you would like to cut.To cut across the one inch section, use your shears. The hair remaining in the front section should be cut using the previously cut section as a traveling guide.

Step 17: The hair should be cut along the perimeter.

The hair should be combed around the side and back of your head.To determine the amount of hair to cut off, use a ruler or comb.Start at the back of the head.Without pulling on the hair, hold a one inch section above the point at which you would like to cut.To cut across the one inch section, use your shears.Work from the back to the front of each side using the previously cut section as a travel guide.

Step 18: Take the nape section and cut it.

Start at the bottom of the section and work your way up after removing the 12 inch layer of hair. The hair needs to be combed until it lays flat.Start at the back of the head.Without pulling on the hair, hold a one inch section just above the point at which you would like to cut, and use the previously cut hair as your guide.Cut across the one inch section with your shears.Continue this process until you have cut the hair in the nape section.

Step 19: Cut the crown and side sections.

Start at the bottom of the side section and work your way up from there. The hair needs to be combed until it is flat.Start at the back of the head.Without pulling on the hair, hold a one inch section just above the point at which you would like to cut, and use the previously cut hair as your guide.Cut across the one inch section with your shears.Continue this process until you are done cutting the hair in the side sections. If you divide your hair into seven sections, repeat it on the crown sections.

Step 20: Cut the top section with a comb.

If you want to distribute hair on each side, unclip and comb the top section.Start at the center back of the head.Without pulling on the hair, hold a one inch section just above the point at which you would like to cut and use the previously cut hair as your guide. To cut across the one inch section, use your shears.Continue this process until you are done cutting the hair in the top section.

Step 21: You have to comb the hair.

There is a section off of the front. To create a 12 inch bang section, part the hair from the right to the left temple. In front of the face, put the bang section forward.

Step 22: The center of the bang can be cut with the scissor tips.

The bang section has a center. The comb should be stopped 14 inch above the desired length. The center bangs can be cut with the tips of the scissors.

Step 23: To the right, trim to the left.

The left and right sides of the bangs should be trimmed. There is a left bang section. The comb should be stopped 14 inch above the desired length. To cut the left bangs, use the tips of the scissors.Make sure to repeat on the right bangs.

Step 24: The evenness of the cut needs to be checked.

The entire bang section needs to be combed through.Keep an eye out for hairs that you missed. The tips of the scissors can be used to even out the bangs.
