Are you a fan of poker?One of the largest online poker communities is Zynga Poker.You can start playing without spending a dime if you have a starting bank of chips.If you want to learn how to play poker like a real card shark, see Step 1 below.
Step 1: If you don't have a Facebook account, you should.
There are two ways to play Zynga Poker, you can either download the app for your mobile device or use your web browser.If you want to save your progress, you need a Facebook account.
Step 2: The app is available on Facebook.
You can enter "Texas HoldEm Poker" into the search bar on a computer's web browser.The first result has 10,000,000+ monthly users listed underneath.Texas HoldEm Poker will give you access to your friends list and public profile.You need to accept this in order to play.You can decide who can see the posts.Select "Only Me" for the sharing options if you don't want other people to see your messages.
Step 3: The app can be downloaded for your mobile device.
You can download the Zynga Poker app for free from the app store on your device.You will need to log in with your Facebook account to save your progress once the app is installed.You can sign in as a guest if you don't want to log in.Your progress won't be saved.You have to download the app in order to play on your device.
Step 4: Take a look at how many chips you have.
There is a display of your chip count in the upper left corner.This is the amount of money you can wager in a poker game.
Step 5: You can find a table.
There are different ways to join a table.Clicking the "Play Texas Hold'Em Now" button at the top of the screen will randomly join a table in your skill level, or you can use the table list to see all the different tables available to join.The Table Stakes drop-down menu can be used to remove tables from your list.The "Stakes" and "Min/Max BuyIn" are what it costs to sit at the table.Next to the table name, most tables have a general difficulty level.This will give you an idea of the types of opponents you will be facing, but be aware that people may not be who they say they are.To hide empty and full tables, check the boxes at the bottom of the list.
Step 6: Look at how your friends are doing.
At the bottom of the page is a picture of your Facebook friends playing poker.If you click on their name, you can see how many chips they have.The box on the right side of the page displays your online friends.You can send invites to play a game together.
Step 7: You should check your progress.
The level is displayed at the top of the screen.You gain experience by playing games and winning them.New tables, achievements, and gifts are earned when you level up.The Profile button on the left side of the screen allows you to review your profile.You can see your achievements, unlocked items, and detailed statistics.
Step 8: Take a look at how many chips you have.
The current chip count is displayed at the bottom of the screen.This is the amount of money you can wager in a poker game.
Step 9: There is a table.
You can join the game by pressing the red button.You will join the table based on your chip count.You can find tables that match specific criteria by using the " Hold'Em Tables" button.Use the drop-down menus to choose player numbers and game speed, and to set the desired stakes and buy-in.You can't browse all of the tables in the Facebook version.
Step 10: You should change your settings.
The app settings can be adjusted by clicking the gear icon in the lower-right corner.The hand strength indicator can be turned on or off when you receive notifications.The hand strength indicator will cost you 10% of your winnings if you use it.
Step 11: Take a look at your statistics.
You can see a quick overview of your best hand and biggest win by tapping on your name in the bottom left corner of the app.
Step 12: Understand how to play Texas Hold'Em.
Texas Hold'Em rules are followed by Zynga Poker.The goal is to make the best five-card hand using the community cards that are in the center of the table.After the first two cards are dealt, betting occurs after the third card is shown, the fourth card and the fifth card are shown.Each player takes turns as the dealer and bets to the left.The first two players to the dealer's left must bet to start the round.This guide contains detailed instructions on how to play Texas Hold'Em.
Step 13: At the table, sit down.
You "sit down" at an empty seat when you choose a table.You need to wait until the next hand is dealt in order to play.You can see the amount of chips that your opponent has when you sit at a table.
Step 14: You can choose your action.
Each player's bet for the round in front of them will be shown as play continues around the table.You have the option to Call, Check, Bet/Raise, or Fold when action reaches you.If you know what you want to do before play starts, you can set your action.If the action is no longer viable when play reaches you, you can change it.The player has a time limit.There is a yellow bar around the active player's picture that depletes as the time limit gets closer.To increase or decrease your bet, you will need to use the bet slider.
Step 15: Understand the differences between online and live poker.
There are differences when playing online due to the fact that no one is playing with real money.This will lead to a lot of raises that you wouldn't see at an actual poker.It can be difficult to bluff in online poker as you can't see anyone's reactions.Since the money isn't real, opponents are more likely to call raises in online poker.
Step 16: If you lose, you should buy again.
If you run out of chips from your initial buy-in, you can "re buy", which will give you more chips and allow you to keep playing.If you want to re buy, you must have chips in your bank.
Step 17: When you're done, leave the table.
If you don't want to keep playing, click the "stand up" button.You can watch the table while you leave your seat.Click the "To Lobby" button if you want to go back to the lobby.When you have an active hand, you can't leave the table.
Step 18: Get more chips.
The main way to get chips is to win them from other players, but there are other ways to earn more chips.There is a slot machine on the left side of the lobby that will give you chips if you win.If you pay with Casino Gold, you can pull whenever you want, even after a certain amount of time has passed.Real money is spent on Casino Gold.Clicking on your chip total in the corner of the lobby screen will allow you to purchase more chips.You can choose which package you want to purchase.Clicking the Poker Genius button will allow you to win a small amount of chips and test your poker knowledge.There is a menu in the upper-right corner of the screen.Poker Genius will give you a small amount of chips if you answer correctly on which hands are most likely to win.Poker Genius is only available for a short time.
