How To Raster to Vector can be converted.

There are images created from lines and directions. They are different from raster graphics in that they can scale to any size without being redrawn. There are inherent differences in the formats that make it difficult to convert a raster, or pixel-based, image. You'll be tracing over the original image to recreate it.There are tools that can handle the heavy lifting of this process, but you'll likely need to do some manual editing to get the final product looking just right.

Step 1: There is a conversion website.

You can use an auto-tracing website that will create a vector image automatically if you don't want to download software. You will be able to change settings before saving the new image. When you create an account on the site, you only get two free conversions.A subscription is required for further conversions. You may not have enough options to create a suitable image on a free site. For instructions on using free open-source software if you have a lot of conversions to do, see the next section.

Step 2: Attach the image file you want to convert.

It's best to use a few colors for simple designs and logos. You won't get good results if you try to convert a photograph. The sites support a number of file types. The image should have some blend and anti-aliasing.The edges of the image will have softer colors to give it a more rounded look when you zoom in.The tracing program gets better results with blended edges.Blending is one of the things that most digital images will have, but you may run into issues if you use a very jagged final product.

Step 3: Allow the image to process.

The first trace of the picture will be performed when you first uploaded the image. The process may take a few minutes.

Step 4: The results should be inspected.

When it's done, the original image will be displayed on the left, and the image that was created with a computer will show up in the right. You can click and hold the "Bitmap" button to see the original. The first pass could be perfect if you're lucky.

Step 5: Click on the option that says "hand-pick settings".

In order to apply the best tracing process, VectorMagic will identify the type of image. You can change these settings by clicking on the "Hand-pick settings" option. The type of image you choose will affect how the trace is processed. You will be asked to choose the quality level of the original image and the color range.Errors can be caused by small changes in color of the image.Pick as few colors as possible to get the cleanest result.

Step 6: Go to editing mode.

You can make manual edits to the segment if you switch to editing mode."Segmentation" is the process of breaking the image into distinct parts which are then smoothed and turned into a picture. The editor can be opened by clicking the "Edit Result" button.

Step 7: The Finder can be used to locate problem areas.

You can find areas of the image that the tracer had difficulties with by clicking the "Finder" button. If you manually edit these areas, they will process better during the trace.

Step 8: The tools can be used to make edits.

There are two different segments of an image. When the bitmap is traced, these connections will result in a pinching effect. The connecting pixel can be erased using the Pixel tool. You can use the Color tool to pick the colors you want to use.

Step 9: The Zap tool can be used to wipe out anti-aliasing.

There is no need for anti-aliasing in the original bitmap. The Zap tool will split the aliased part into a separate segment and then merge it with the other segments to create a solid piece.

Step 10: The result can be downloaded if you finish your edits.

To process your edits, click the "Next" button. You can download the image from the "Download Result" button if you are happy with the output. When you create an account, you can download your first two images for free.

Step 11: You must download and install Inkscape.

There is a free, open-source program called Inkscape that is available for Windows, Mac and Linux. You can find it on inkscape.org.The tool in Inkscape will try to convert your image into a file.

Step 12: You can open the image in Inkscape.

Click "File" and browse for the image you want to convert. It's best to use simple images and logos. It will be difficult to get adequate results when attempting to auto-trace a photograph.

Step 13: You can select the image.

Click it to select it on the canvas after loading the bitmap.

Step 14: You can open the tracer.

You can open the auto-tracing tool after you have selected the bitmap.Click "Path" or press the Shift+Alt+B key.

Step 15: You can choose the path mode.

There are three ways to create a single path. The path is the tracing of your image. The Live Preview will be updated if you select each one.You can create a basic outline with these three options. The "Threshold" options can be used to adjust how the scans are processed. The threshold for the "Brightness cutoff" will be either black or white. The threshold is the same for both "Edge detection" and "Border detection".

Step 16: If you want to create an exact copy of a simple image, select the "Colors" option.

Increase the number of scans to see more colors. This may not be able to provide good results for complex images.

Step 17: Once you're done, make the paths better.

You can apply them to the image once you're happy with the results.Click "Path" or "Simplify" if you want to reduce the number of nodes. The end result will be much easier to edit.

Step 18: Click on the button to modify the paths.

There is a tool box on the left side of the screen.F2 can also be pressed. This will allow you to make changes to the image.See the article for detailed instructions.

Step 19: You can add your own lines.

Shapes and lines can be created with the tools in the left toolbar. They can be used to replace parts of the trace that didn't turn out right. You can use the nodes to adjust the curve and shape of the object after you've created a shape or line.Click the "Convert selected object to path" button if you want to modify the shapes you've created.

Step 20: The file needs to be saved.

If you like your new art, you can save it as a vector image.Choose one of the file formats from the drop-down menu. One of the most common formats is sva.
