How To Reboot an iPhone

There are two ways to reset the phone. If your device is malfunctioning or freezing, it's best to try a hard reset first, and if that doesn't work, then try the factory reset, which restores your phone to factory default settings.Factory resets should only be used as a last resort. If you want to try the factory reset on your phone, you should take it to the Apple Store for a Genius Bar appointment.

Step 1: Hold the Home button and the Sleep/Wake button at the same time.

Step 2: Hold both buttons until the phone shuts off and restarts.

This will take anywhere from 15 to 60 seconds. To power off your phone, ignore the prompt. The hard reset is not happening if you power off your phone.Hold the buttons down at the same time to continue with the hard reset.

Step 3: When you see the silver Apple logo, you may let go.

You have successfully completed the hard reset.

Step 4: It doesn't take long to load from the Apple logo to the main screen.

This is normal.

Step 5: Attach the iPhone to your computer.

If you want to restore most of your data, you need to know the computer that you last backed up.

Step 6: It's possible to open iTunes.

You can access your phone's settings if you have an "iphone" button on the left side or top-right corner. You can click on this button. The summary tab is on the top horizontal navigation bar.

Step 7: Make sure to back up your phone.

Wait for the backup to complete if your phone automatically started backing up when it connected to your computer. This won't recover any additional data if your phone is damaged, but it is worth trying.

Step 8: The factory reset should be performed when the backup is complete.

The "settings" app is on your phone."General" and "Reset" were used.Choose "Erase All Content and settings" on the next screen.Wait until the factory reset is complete. It could take up to an hour.Make sure your phone works after it's been reset. It's a good idea to take it to the Apple Store for a checkup.

Step 9: To get your phone back, restore it to its last backup.

Right-click on the device you want to restore from backup and select "Restore from Backup."You can choose which backup to restore. The "Restore" button can be found on the Summary page. There is a chance that the glitch is caused by an app or piece of data in your last backup.Try to restore to an earlier backup if your phone is malfunctioning again. If you still experience problems, you can either perform a factory reset or consult an Apple Genius Bar employee.
