How To Remove Water Heater Elements
It can be difficult to remove water heater elements.You will need to remove the water heating element.
Step 1: It's a good idea to shut off the electricity to the water heater.
The water heater may have two separate breakers.
Step 2: Shut off water supply.
Step 3: Use the relief valve to drain the water heater.

Step 4: The panels on the water heater are open.
One or two screws hold them on.
Step 5: Move the element.
It could be fiberglass or a piece of cardboard.
Step 6: The wires should be removed from the element.

Step 7: The element should be removed by turningcounterclockwise.
Step 8: Attach pipe dope to the new element.
Step 9: Attach wires.
Step 10: For additional elements, repeat Steps 4-9.
Step 11: Put water in the tank.

Step 12: The electricity should be turned on to the water heater.
Step 13: It's a good idea to test for hot water in an hour.
