How To Replace an Outdoor Water Faucet

Over time, the outdoor water faucets may wear down.It is easy to replace an outdoor water faucet.

Step 1: The main water supply valve should be turned off.

Step 2: The lubricant can be sprayed onto the faucet.

Rust may have formed on the threads if the lubricant is not used.

Step 3: Remove all of the water from the faucet.

Step 4: Place the pipe wrench on the water pipe.

Step 5: Hold the pipe wrench on the water pipe with your nondominant hand.

The pipe wrench should be turned counterclockwise until the faucet is loosened.

Step 6: Remove the faucet by hand in a clockwise motion once it's loosened.

Step 7: To clean the threads on the pipe, use a stiff bristled brush.

Step 8: Take the old faucet to the home improvement store.

The old faucet has the same specifications as the new one.

Step 9: The Teflon tape should be wrapped around the threads in a clockwise direction.

Teflon tape is used to seal the connection.

Step 10: Attach the new faucet to the pipe by hand.

Step 11: Place a pipe wrench on the pipe and a faucet on it.

Step 12: The faucet should be turned in the correct direction when the faucet wrench is turned clockwise.

Step 13: The main water supply valve should be turned on.

Step 14: To check for leaks, open the faucet.
