How To Set Up an Apple Watch

You can learn how to set up a third-generation Apple Watch.If you want to do that, you will need an Apple product that is capable of running at least the most recent version of the operating system.

Step 1: Turn on your watch.

The Power button is below the dial on the right side of the watch's case.After you see the white Apple logo, your Apple Watch will turn itself on.If you can't turn on your Apple Watch, you need to charge it for a while.

Step 6: Make sure your phone is up-to-date.

If your phone hasn't been updated yet, you should update it to the most recent operating system.If you want to pair your Apple Watch with your iPhone, you have to run at least the most recent version of the software.

Step 7: Your Apple ID is required to sign into it.

If you don't sign into your Apple ID account on your phone, you will not be able to set up the Apple Watch.

Step 8: You can open your phone's watch app.

The Apple Watch has a black-and-white side profile.You can download the app from the App Store for free if you deleted it.

Step 9: You can place your phone near the watch.

For the duration of the setup process, you should be within a few feet of each other.

Step 10: You can start with your Apple Watch.

There is a button at the bottom of the screen.A ball will appear on the Apple Watch's screen if you do that.

Step 11: On your phone, open the app and tap Start Pairing.

The bottom of the phone's screen is where it is located.

Step 12: Scan the Apple Watch with your phone.

Make sure to center the face of the Apple Watch in the square on your phone's screen by pointing your camera at it.

Step 14: You can select a wrist answer.

To find out which wrist you use for your Apple Watch, tap or near the bottom of your phone's screen.

Step 15: Agree by tapping.

It is in the bottom-right corner of the screen.

Step 16: When prompted, tap Agree.

The pop-up menu has this in it.It is confirmed that you agree with the Apple Watch terms of use.

Step 17: You can choose a Route Tracking option.

Either way, tap on the "Workout Route Tracking" screen.You can track the weather and workout routes in your area with the Route Tracking feature.

Step 18: You should tap OK.

It's at the bottom of the screen.This shows that you know that your Apple Watch will use the same settings as your phone.

Step 19: You have to create a password for your Apple Watch.

If you tap in the middle of your phone's screen, you can type in a four-digit password on your Apple Watch and confirm it.If you don't want to add one right now, you can tap to use letters and symbols.

Step 20: You can set up an activity.

There is a grey button in the middle of the screen.You can skip to the next part if you don't want to set up your Apple Watch's Activity app right now.

Step 21: Take a moment to review your information.

Birthdate - Your date of birth is one of the categories of information that your phone will display.There are activity options for sex.The current height is yours.Weight is your current weight.Whether or not you use a wheelchair.

Step 22: If needed, change activity information.

Select the correct option from the pop-up menu and tap in the top-right corner of the screen if the information on this page is missing or incorrect.

Step 23: Continue.

There's a button at the bottom of the screen.

Step 24: Pick a move goal.

The number of calories you want to burn is called a Move Goal.If you want to increase or decrease this number, you can do so by tapping on either the left or right of the number on your phone's screen.A preset number of calories can be selected by tapping near the top of the screen.

Step 25: You can set a move goal.

It is at the bottom of your phone's screen.

Step 26: You can download it later.

The link at the bottom of your phone's screen will allow you to download the Nike+ Run Club app at a later date.Doing so ends your Activity app setup and leads you to the Pay section.Depending on the type of Apple Watch you have, you may not see this option or be encouraged to download a different fitness app.

Step 27: You can continue by tapping.

The bottom of your phone's screen has an orange button.

Step 28: Enter your card's security code.

You can type the three-digit security code that's on the back of your card into the "Security Code" text field on your phone.You can use a different card if you tap below the "Security Code" text box.

Step 29: Next, tap.

You can see it in the upper-right corner of your phone's screen.

Step 30: Agree by tapping.

The bottom-right corner of the screen has this option.

Step 31: Wait for your card to finish adding to your timepiece.

Don't walk away with your Apple Watch just yet, because this can take a few minutes.You can proceed if you see the Emergency SOS screen.

Step 32: Continue.

It's in the middle of the screen.

Step 33: You can install apps on your watch.

If you want to download compatible iPhone apps to your Apple Watch, tap the grey button in the middle of your phone's screen.You can do this later by tapping below the button.

Step 34: Wait for the Apple Watch to finish.

Between 5 and 15 minutes will be needed to download the necessary apps for your Apple Watch.The sync period is only a few minutes if you didn't download apps onto the Apple Watch.

Step 35: You need to confirm your Apple ID permissions.

On your phone, you'll get a notification about your Apple ID being used on your watch, and you can confirm it by tapping on it.

Step 36: When prompted, press your Digital Crown.

When you see "Your Apple Watch is ready to use!", the Digital Crown is on the right side of the housing.Press in the Digital Crown to complete the setup.You can begin to explore your Apple Watch.
