You can sign up for an account as a passenger or a driver.You can book a ride as a passenger immediately, but it can take several days to complete the steps needed to drive.
Step 1: You can open the app.
If you haven't installed it yet, you can download it from the App Store or the Play Store.
Step 2: You can enter your phone number.
Make sure to enter the number you want to receive messages from, and then tap the arrow to continue.
Step 3: The confirmation code is four digits long.
The number you entered was the one that received the code.The arrow should be tapped to continue.
Step 4: Your email address will be entered.
To continue, tap the arrow.
Step 5: You need to enter a password for your account.
Choose a password that has at least 8 characters and includes a combination of letters, numbers, and punctuation, then tap the arrow to continue.
Step 6: You can enter your first and last name.
To continue, tap the arrow.
Step 7: You can agree to the terms of service by tapping the arrow.
Step 8: You can tap.
It is at the top left corner of the screen.
Step 9: Payment can be made via tap.
Step 10: You can add a payment method.
Step 11: Go to Add Promo/Gift Code.
You can get a promotional discount if you received a promo code from someone else.You can get your first ride free if you have a code.
Step 12: You can choose a payment method.
There are different options by country.To enter your card number and billing information, follow the on-screen instructions.If you choose one of the payment processing companies, follow the on-screen instructions to sign in to your account.
Step 13: You can book a ride.
You are ready for your first ride when your payment information is entered.You can find detailed information on making your first reservation.
Step 14: In a web browser, go to https://www.uber.com.
If you want to complete this step, you need to use a web browser.
Step 15: Click if you want to become a driver.
There is a green button at the top right corner of the screen.You must be at least 21 years old and have a valid driver's license, insurance and legally registered car in order to drive for the ride-sharing service.
Step 16: Your personal information will be entered.
On the right side of the screen, you can type the requested information into the form.Click to continue when the form is complete.Click the link beneath the form if you already signed up as a passenger.If you will be driving your own vehicle or driving a licensed taxi, you should choose the option from the "What type of vehicle will you drive?"
Step 17: If your vehicle meets the requirements, click Continue.
Step 18: You can enter your social security number.
Click if you want to type the number in the spaces provided.This number will be used to perform a background check.
Step 19: To agree to the background check, click I Agree and Acknowledge.
You don't have to worry about your credit or data being shared with others.
Step 20: You can take a photo of your driver's license.
If you use your mobile device to fill out the form, follow the instructions on the screen to take the photo.If you are using a computer, take a photo of your license and send it to your computer.Click on the photo you want to download.
Step 21: You can find an inspection center.
Before you can drive, you need to have your car inspected.You can move to the next step after the inspection is complete.They will try to locate the nearest inspection center.Click beneath the location if you want to use that center.Click for another option.You should bring your license, registration, and insurance card with you to the inspection.
Step 22: Take a photo of your vehicle inspection form.
Step 23: Go to www.uber.com/sign-in.
Step 24: Click the sign in button.
Step 25: Your vehicle inspection form needs to be uploaded.
A pop-up will ask if you have completed your inspection.Click if you want to go to the photo or scanned inspection form.
Step 26: All requested documents should be uploaded with images.
If required by your city or state, you will be prompted to provide a copy of your insurance card, registration card and business license.San Francisco CA, Portland OR, and Las Vegas are some of the places where business licenses are required.To find out if your city requires a business license to drive, call the revenue division.
Step 27: You can download the app.
Send a download link to your phone.The link will take you to the app store on your phone.
Step 28: You can play the welcome video.
The video will show you how to use the app on your phone.
Step 29: The mail should be checked.
If your documents are approved and your background check is successful, you should receive a welcome kit from us in a few days, though it can take up to 2 weeks if there is high demand.All of the information you need to get on the road will be included in this kit.
Step 30: You can open the app.
You can refer friends, family, and people you're connected with on social media by sharing your personal referral code.Your friend will get their first ride for free once they sign up.You will get a free ride of the same amount if they take the first ride.The people you are referring to can't have accounts with the company.You will need to create a new account with your referral code in order to benefit from this program.The dollar amount of the free ride credit varies by area, but is usually up to $20 toward a ride.
Step 31: Click on it.
It is at the top of the screen.
Step 32: You can click for free rides.
Step 33: Click to send invites.
Underneath your invite code, your code will appear.
Step 34: Use an app to share invites.
You can send your code via email, text, or social media.You can use an app to send a message to someone you want to share your code with.The person you refer will get credit if they click your link or enter your code manually.
