How To Smoke a Cigarette

Smoking a cigarette seems very easy on the surface.A number of subtle moves help the entire process go smoothly.Tobacco use can cause many health problems including cancer and heart disease.

Step 1: The pack needs to beamped.

There are certain rituals associated with smoking and packing is one of them. This is accomplished by rapping a pack of cigarettes against a table or palm, three to six times. In theory, this condenses the tobacco so that it is a little tighter in the paper and lasts longer.

Step 2: You can open the pack.

Either tear open one end of the exposed silver foil, or for flip-top packs, remove the cellophane. Many people remove the first cigarette and then replace it in the package because the tobacco side is up.For some, this is for good fortune. It's a ritual that may have been learned from another smoker. The lucky cigarette is the last one to smoke.

Step 3: A cigarette can be removed.

A pack of smokes will be tightly packed. If you want the cigarettes to come out of the pack, rap it against your finger. When one has reached the point where you can grasp it with your fingers, do so.It will be easier to get cigarettes from a partially emptied pack. When one removes the cigarette with their teeth and lips, there is a noticeable degree of coolness.

Step 4: Hold the cigarette.

You will eventually hold the cigarette if you pull it from the pack with your fingers or mouth. This is an entirely personal choice with no rules, but there are some common methods of smoking to be aware of.The cigarette should be held between the index and middle finger on the first and second knuckle. It's sophisticated. The Classic has the palm facing you and fingers pointing upward.Casual.The cigarette is secured by wrapping the index finger around the second knuckle of the middle finger. The palm of the hand is in a relaxed, closed position and facing downward. It's Euro I.A cigarette is held between the thumb and forefinger.Euro II.The cigarette is held between your thumb and forefinger, with the end pointing directly at you. They spotted the Nazi spy in the movies. They found the American spies if they didn't hold it this way.It was palmed. The cigarette is pinched between thumb and forefinger, but the palm is facing in, and it points towards the inner wrist. It's useful if you don't want it to be obvious that you're smoking. The person is feminine. The cigarette is held between the index and middle fingers. The palm is facing up as the hand is relaxed and bent backward.

Step 5: You should put the cigarette in your mouth.

You're already there if you pulled it out of the pack.Put the end of the cigarette between your lips. Some prefer to smoke on one side or the other. If you want to know before you light up in public, try practicing with a pen or pencil. It doesn't matter which end you put between your lips, if you're smoking straights, like Lucky Strikes or Camel Studs. The end will have the logo or brand on it.

Step 6: Light it up!

If you bring your match or lighter up to the cigarette's tip, you'll get a kick out of it.Don't smoke when lighting a cigarette, just take a couple of short puffs and the tobacco will be lit.Factory-made cigarettes burn uniformly and light quickly.

Step 7: Take out the smoke.

Pull a little smoke into your mouth after your cigarette is lit.If you bring in too much smoke, you will regret it when you start coughing.

Step 8: For a moment, hold the smoke in your mouth.

This will help keep your throat from getting irritated. The flavor of the smoke is objectionable to some. You can decide with experience.

Step 9: Take the cigarette out of your mouth.

Take a deep breath as you take it out.It will help you avoid irritating your throat. This is not like smoking a joint, where you inhale directly into your lungs."Frenching" is an alternate form of inhaling. If you want to do this, you have to push some of the smoke back into the air and then suck it in with your nose. This might take some practice to perfect.Your tolerance for the smoke will increase as you continue to smoke. The easier it will be to smoke if you have more tolerance for the act of inhaling smoke. As you build a tolerance for nicotine, you'll get more addicted as you smoke more. You need more nicotine to get the same sensation you got from your first cigarette.

Step 10: Put your hand in a position.

The place where you place your cigarette hand is part of the ritual of smoking. There are no hard and fast rules for smoking like holding a cigarette, but there are common practices.Women keep the cigarette at mouth level, with palm up and hand facing out, by rotating their arm from the shoulder.Men lower their hand to mid-torso by rotating their arm at the elbow.

Step 11: The smoke should be blown out.

Blow the smoke out of your mouth or nose as you move your hand into position. There is no right or wrong way to do this. Some say blowing out their nose lets them get more flavor from the smoke, while others don't like the burning sensation. Some people let the smoke "dry" out of their mouth, while others blow it out forcefully. You can learn to blow smoke rings by forming your mouth in an "O" shape and using your throat to push the smoke over your tongue and lips.

Step 12: The ashes can be tapped.

flicking off the ash is a ritual part of smoking. As you burn the cigarette, it will remain on the tip as fine gray ash, which is remarkably tenacious. When it reaches a certain point, gravity takes over and the ash will fall to the ground. This isn't a problem if you're walking down the street. It's best to use an ashtray if you're standing indoors because most people don't like having cigarette ash on their floor. How you hold your cigarette will affect how you flick it.If you hold it in a way that the filter end is in the vicinity of your thumb, the ash will fall into the tray.A quick tap in the middle of the cigarette with your index or ring finger will cause the ashes to fall. The ashes are encouraged to fall into the tray if you tap the cigarette itself against the lip of the ashtray.

Step 13: Take it out.

You will want to dispose of the cigarette safely. You can do this by grinding it and putting it in the ashtray. If you want to dispose of the cigarette, grind it against a non-flammable surface. It's rude, crude and socially unacceptable to deal with used butt. The start of many forest and brush fires can be caused by leaving your butt out the window. You could be fined a lot if you get caught flicking. You're looking at serious legal problems if you cause a brush fire. How much of a cigarette you like to smoke depends on how much you smoke. If you smoke straights, there's only so much cigarette you can smoke until you're frying your lips.A lot of people smoke until they can't put it in their mouth. After the halfway point, others prefer to put out a cigarette.
