How To Style Waist Length Hair

It takes patience, discipline and time to grow long hair.Make the most of your time by styling your hair like a pro.The article will show you how to change up your look with a variety of gorgeous styles.

Step 1: A ponytail is made at the nape of the neck.

You should brush your hair.To keep your hair in a snug ponytail, wrap a hair rubber band around your neck as many times as necessary, and collect it all in one hand.If you want to keep your hair healthy, you should use elastic rubber bands covered in fabric. Before brushing your hair into a ponytail, you can try a silicone snappy to make it easier to slide through the rubber band.

Step 2: Your hair is braided into a three part braid.

The ponytail should be separated into three separate parts. If you don't have enough hair to work with, cross left over center, then right overcenter as far down the ponytail as you can.The ponytail holder needs to be moved to the bottom of the braid. This section will be thinner than the top of the braid, so you will need to add a few wraps to the ponytail holder. As you go along keep your braid tight. If some hair is escaping the braid along the way, remove it up to that section and then continue down the length of the ponytail.

Step 3: To make a bun, wrap your braid around itself.

Wrap the braid around itself starting at the top.Wrap along the outside of the last turn as opposed to laying the braid on top of itself to create a nice bun.To hide the rubber band and unbraided tip, push the end of the braid under the bun.If you want to secure this end with a bobby pin, push it through the end and into the secured hair along the scalp. The side of the pin with grooves should be facing you.If you want to change the shape of the bun, secure it with bobby pins.

Step 4: You can decorate your bun.

Use hair accessories, flowers, and antique hat pins. They can be pushed into your braid in a variety of places.headbands and scarves are wrapped around the top of your head.As you braid, wrap the ribbon around the bun and tie it in place. This can add color and a little extra security to hold your bun in place, or wrap around any little "fly-aways" which are escaping the braid.

Step 5: Wrap your hair with flannel strips.

Flannel is easy to tie together. You will want strips that are 3 times the length of your hair.If you want to keep your hair healthy, curling it with a flannel rag is a great way to do it.If you want to have curlers in your hair, cut as many strips as you can.Curls will be tighter if more curlers are used and more hair is used in each curl.

Step 6: You need to separate your hair.

You should separate your hair into even sections if you want to put in too many curls.Use a hair clip to hold the sections in place.

Step 7: You can apply styling lotion to one section of your hair.

Without making your hair stiff, styling lotion can give you a decent hold.Pull the lotion through your hair until it is slightly damp, but not wet.

Step 8: The flannel strip should be wrapped around your hair.

Six inches of excess flannel can be found at the top of this section of hair. The rag should be held in one hand like the top of a ponytail. When you reach an inch and a half of hair left to twist, wrap the hair around the rag.The hair should be wrapped around the rag and not around it.Straight hair can be obtained by wrapping the rag around the hair. You can get more spiral to your hair by twisting it in one direction. You should not see the rag under the hair once you have wrapped it around. The rag should not be visible between the wraps of hair.

Step 9: There is a rag around the hair.

Wrap the rest of the hair around the rag.Work your way back up once you reach the bottom of your hair. You will need to wrap your rag around the hair to hold it in place.Once you have wrapped the rag all the way back to the top, tie it securely in a knot with the 6 inches (15.2 cm) of flannel you left at the bottom.

Step 10: Wrap your hair around the flannel strips.

Wrap the hair around the rag and tie it off, repeat this process with each section of hair.If you want to have consistent Curls, keep your sections of hair as normal as possible.

Step 11: Allow time for your hair to dry.

If you have grown your hair this long, you probably have the patience to wait it out.You should begin this process at least 24 hours before you want your style to be complete. If you want to sleep on your hair, create it early in the evening. It takes a long time to dry hair. The longer it takes to dry, the more hair you used.If you need to speed up the drying time, you can sit under a bonnet hair dryer for an hour.

Step 12: The rags need to be removed from your hair.

The flannel from the top of your hair needs to be untied. The rag should be removed from the outside of the curl. You should be able to pull the rag straight down from the center of the curl if the hair was wrapped perfectly. If the rag can't pull out of the curl, unwrap it and pull it through.

Step 13: You can style your hair the way you please.

You should have a head full of spirals once you remove your rags. You can styles them to get different looks.A smooth, wavy, old-school Hollywood look can be achieved with a bristle brush.Use your fingers to separate the spirals into multiple spirals. If you want a messy-chic style, flip your head upside-down.

Step 14: Place your hair in a ponytail.

Natural ingredients and no harsh chemicals are what you can choose.A spray that allows movement and bounce in your hair is a good choice.

Step 15: The bottom half of your hair should be separated from the top half.

Use your fingers to get the top half of your hair.Put both index fingers at your temples and then run them upward until they meet at the top.Take this hair and put it in one hand. You shouldn't run your fingers across the back of your head. This will cause a split, with most of your hair in a ponytail and a small portion on the bottom.

Step 16: A half ponytail is all it takes to create a loop.

There is a rubber band around the crown of your head.Wrap the rubber band around.Pull most of the ponytail through, but leave the end in the rubber band, holding it in a large loop.

Step 17: Pull the sides of the loop to secure the half pony tail.

There is a rubber band between your thumb and forefinger.Pull outward, putting pressure on the rubber band and forcing it closer to your head. You should be able to feel the hair on your head.Pull the hair out of the ponytail to give it more volume. If your hair falls out of the rubber band, you have to take the ponytail out and wrap it all over again.

Step 18: Try two ponytails.

The bottom half of your hair can be wrapped into a loop. You can either get the rest of your hair out of the way or mix it up with a half ponytail and two loops in the back.To create a stacked effect, start the bottom ponytail underneath the top loop. There are hair pins between the loops.

Step 19: Take your hair out at the nape of your neck.

Attach your hair with a rubber band at the nape of your neck.Take the rubber band off the pony tail and let it go.

Step 20: You can pull your ponytail through the center of your hair.

The center of your hair is where it meets the rubber band.To make a hole large enough to fit your pony tail, you need to separate the hair with your fingers.Attach your ponytail through the hole with a rubber band. The ponytail can be pulled through the hole with the thumb and forefinger of your other hand. The rubber band should now be folded under a roll of hair. You need to make a hole and pull the ponytail through until you have rolls on both sides of your head.

Step 21: To finish off the look, Tuck the ends under the rolls.

After you have created several inches of rolls on the sides of your head, fold your remaining hair under and tuck the ends into the center near your rubber band. The bun should be folded in the back.

Step 22: You should put the top half of your hair in a ponytail.

To get the top half of your hair, run your fingers from temple to crown.Wrap a rubber band around the hair to create a ponytail.

Step 23: Take your hair out and put it in a bun.

Start at the base of your ponytail and twist it in one direction. The rubber band is in a circle.Continue to layer circles around the outside of the last roll until you reach the end of your ponytail and have a nice bun.To hide the loose ends, Tuck the end of the ponytail under the bun.

Step 24: Attach your bun to the chopsticks.

The bun should be held with one hand.Push a chopstick into the side of the bun.As you push the chopstick through the bun, you should be able to get more hair by placing it down toward the scalp.Continue weaving the chopstick through the bun until it comes out the other side.

Step 25: Attach a second chopstick.

One chopstick is enough to hold the bun in place, but you can use a second one.The other chopstick should be inserted at a 45 degree angle to the horizontal one, pushing it from the top corner of the bun and out the other side.If you want, you can braid the loose section of your hair after the top half is done.

Step 26: The rest of your hair should be quarters.

Run your fingers through the center of your hair to separate it.If you want to get it out of the way, you have to split the other half into two even sections.Remove the one on the other half and secure them with rubber bands. This half should be divided into two even sections.Attach one with a rubber band. The first thing you'll do is work with the loose quarter.

Step 27: Each quarter, you braid.

You need to separate a quarter of your hair.Left over center until you are left with about 4 inches (10 cm) at the end.Continue this process with the other 3 quarters if you tie the braid in place with a rubber band. You should drape the braids in front of your shoulders.
