I have been able to resist the sugar cravings so far, but I know that when I see my toddler's snack cup of animal cookies, the animal within me wants to pull the lid off and stuff the things right down my throat. When do I like animal cookies?Only on a sugar fast.Moving on...

I thought about those of you that may not have a laminator since I post about many projects that involve it.I was hoping that this would be the solution for you.

Let me tell you that there was some success in the end, but is it worth the effort? You can.

I remember seeing a post that said you can use an iron.Since I already have a relationship with a fantastic laminator of my own, I didn't think much of it.I still have a very healthy relationship with my laminator and I have wondered if it actually works.

I decided to do an experiment for all of you out there that hope to one day find a laminator to call your own, but are having serious hesitation in making the plunge to buy one.I understand. It is difficult to get attached to too many things. Can you use an iron?

I read about 3 different ways to use the pouch in a t-shirt, or in between two cotton clothes. Here are the results from the first round.

I thought maybe I was doing it wrong.I went back and read the instructions again.I made sure the pouch wasn't getting too hot in case it was the cause of the wrinkling.

The bubbling occurred again.I was frustrated and really wanted chocolate.I wondered if this was a prank.Have you ever considered putting a solution onPinterest to see how many people will try it?For a perfect complexion, soak your face in peanut butter over night.Since chocolate wasn't an option, I decided to give it one more try.I remembered the iron-on transfer instructions from the post that said to iron using a hard surface for the best results, and I thought maybe this would be a similar situation.

It is probably worth it if it is expensive. It isn't worth it since you can get a decent laminator in the $20-30 range.

If you only need to make one thing, then this is the route to go.It will take a bit of practice to get the technique down, but you can definitely get it to work.Practice with a paper you don't care about.Don't use the iron to get rid of the last photo of your great-great-grandpa.That would be classified as dumb.Even if you feel like you don't have the right technique.

I'm a mother of three and I enjoy the view.I'm fighting a battle with a disease and am determined to win.I like warm summer rain, peanut butter, dancing with my husband and kids, natural remedies, and healthy living.I just want to avoid the piles of laundry.

I have come across some hoaxes.Clicking on the pin will take you to a website that says it is a hoax. Thanks for trying this out, though I have a laminator, for those who don't.

That is funny.I don't think we should be on pins to solve life problems. Thanks for stopping by!

What type of sheets were you using?I bought a pack of purple cows laminating pouches at Michael's after reading this post.I found your page after looking for instructions online.I tried the one that you said worked.I tried to get the result that you did.The lady put the video on the ironing board with a cotton pillowcase over it.I put the pouch on the table because I don't have an ironing board.I went over the iron at the hottest setting for about four minutes. It works like a charm.Since I don't have to pay the $30 for the machine, I'm planning on laminating more stuff. The one you found was definitely correct. If you have time, I would give it a try.

I would love to purchase a laminator, but I don't know much about them. What do you think should be done?I teach preschool and have young children, so I would use it a lot.

Megan!I have heard that the Scotch One is great, and I like the Purple Cows one, so I think you can get this one at the store if they still have it.If you don't need the wider format of the Apache, you can get the Scotch or the Purple Cows. For 25 cents or less a pouch, you can get them on Amazon or Walmart.

Hi!The apache is not good for thicker than 3 or 5 mil.I know the package says up to 5 mil, but I want to know if anyone has been successful with it.

Had no idea you could get a laminator for so little.Oh whoop!I will make sure to go through your link if I get one.p.s.Are you without a lawn mower??

Beth!We don't have a lawn mower. We have a lawn.We did not have a microwave for the first 3 years of our lives, because one of the neighbor kids couldn't wrap his mind around it.As a mom, you will love having a laminator. It is the only way I will be able to finish certain projects.I am not going to spend hours making bag activities that will be crumpled up and ruined after a few uses.

I believe the secret is to only iron in one direction, starting from the seam side of the pouch moving toward the open end.The air is pushed toward the open end of the pouch.Maybe that wasn't listed in the pouch directions.

I'm a guy.The iron was put on the highest setting. The ironing board was sandwiched between the cotton t-shirt cloth and the laminating pouch. The iron was stroked from the sealed end to the open end. There was a perfect job in less than 30 seconds. It was a violation.Thank you girls. You can help a guy do it.

I believe the cause of the wrinkling is that you were ironing. When you iron without lifting it, it can cause wrinkling, especially when you have multiple layers.Lift the iron and move it when you press. If you lift, move to an overlap position, and press again, you should not have a wrinkling problem if it isn't wrinkled when you put it down.

My grandmother laminated things for her Sunday School classes.I did not know there were laminating machines until a few years ago.

Some of the comments are correct.Lift the iron and iron in the same direction on the ironing board. The page will have a bit of a curl if you press hard on the ironing board.I have never used a cloth underneath the laminating sheet.I usually use a towel.

I want to use some laminating on a winter door poster.I want to put it on my front door for the holdays because it is tearing and I love the old fashioned look.I haven't been able to find anything like this poster since, and really would like to keep it for the nostalgic feeling I get when I look at it.

Where can I find a large sheet of laminate to use on this? The dimensions are 7 feet by 3 feet.If you don't know where I could get that size of laminate, maybe you could suggest a poster that resembles mine.I would be happy to send you a picture of it.

Hello Esther!Do you own a copy shop?laminating sheets come in packs, so for one item it would be more cost-effective to laminate at a copy shop, and they will do a good job.I would love to see a picture of it.You have me curious.

It was a little intimidating to read your suggestions and comments.I needed something quickly for my mom.I tackled it because I had already purchased the sleeves.I used my ironing board to collect my supplies, which included a piece of cardboard for a smooth surface.I took a silicone cookie sheet liner, placed the sleeve at the top as close to the edge as possible, inserted my paper spreadsheet, doubled over it, and just plain ironing. It worked well, with little to no wrinkling or bubbling.I put the piece of cardboard below the silicone and it was even more smooth.

Either it was luck or it wasn't as hard as I thought. The tips you gave me were a big help.I hope my suggestion helps others.I tried to iron a crease into the silicone sheet, but it didn't get wrinkled.

Your letters seem to pick up gold. The black letters don't have the consistent gold look that yours does when I use the gold foil. There are a lot of small areas that don't accept gold.Any suggestions? Is it possible to increase the amount of toner in the laser print?I don't know how to do this, but I need some help. Thanks for the advice!

I followed someone else's instructions and it ended up like your first attempt. The ink on my paper flowed and liquified.I love the tips from everyone.Next time, I will try them.I don't want to buy a laminator because I have to store it somewhere. We have too much junk in our space.
