How To Use Instagram Stories

You can learn how to watch and create IG stories on your phone.People share their stories throughout the day.Music, special effects, polls, quizzes, stickers, and more are just some of the things that each user has their own story about.Video clips are only 15 seconds long, but they can be combined with other clips and photos to create a effect.You can see each post for up to 24 hours before it disappears.

Step 1: You can open it on your phone or tablets.

It is a good idea to check out other people's stories to get a feel for what is going on.The person who posted the story will be able to see that you've viewed it.If you're familiar with other peoples' stories, check out Creating a Story.

Step 2: You can tap the house icon.

The screen is at the bottom left corner.This leads you to your feed.

Step 3: The story reel has a user's profile image.

If you follow someone who has posted a story within the last 24 hours, it will show up in a row of user icons at the top of your feed.Swipe across the icons to see what's available, then tap a user to play their first story post.Multiple photos and videos can be posted.When you watch someone's story, you will see all of their posts in order.The next user's story will be shown.The person's name will appear at the top of the screen when you watch their story.If you don't hear sound in a video, you can enable it by pressing the volume up button.You can see someone's story on social media.Go to the person's profile to see if there is a pink ring around their photo.tap the photo to watch their story if you see that ring

Step 4: You can navigate the posts.

To start the post again, tap the left side of the screen.To skip to the next, tap the right side.You can skip a user's remaining story posts if you want to move to the next user.To stop watching stories, tap the top-right corner of the screen.

Step 5: To reply to a story, tap Send message.

Adding text is one of the things you can choose from.The option to reply is usually due to the user's privacy settings.The paper airplane icon at the bottom of the screen is where you can send a story.The user does not allow their stories to be shared if you don't see this icon.Polls, quizzes, and games are included in some stories.There are different features in these stories.

Step 6: You can open it on your phone.

It's time to create your own stories now that you've seen others'.The house icon at the bottom of the screen is where you can find your feed if it doesn't open by default.

Step 7: The camera has a icon.

You can find it at the top left corner of your feed.The story editor can be opened by this.If you're posting a story for the first time, you may have to give permission for your camera, microphone, and camera roll to be used.You can get to the story editor by using your finger.

Step 8: There are story modes.

There are tabs at the bottom of the camera screen that can be used to create content.You can see what's available by moving left or right.This option allows you to create a new photo or video, as well as uploading exiting photos and videos from your phone or tablets.The maximum length of a video is 15 seconds, but you can add multiple clips for a longer experience.You can broadcast video live.The live video will be saved to your account so anyone who missed it can watch it again.You can learn how to broadcast live on social media.You can change your story in create mode.You can make polls, add text, and use fun templates.If you don't want to add a new photo or video to experiment with other types of content, select this option.You can record a burst of photos that loop back-and-forth.For up to 3 seconds, you can use the Record button at the bottom-center part of the screen.A short video is created that zooms in on a subject while playing a dramatic sound effect.Point the camera at the subject, tap the screen to focus, and hold the Record button.You don't have to hold your finger down on the record button to record video.You can choose a song from a large database that plays while you record your video.The music note at the top of the screen and the Trim tool can be used to choose effects that respond to the beat.Music can be added after you add content in Normal or Hands-Free mode.

Step 9: To set your story preferences, tap the gear.

If you want to control the behavior of your first story, tap this icon at the top- left corner.You can control who can and cannot see your story.If you want to keep your followers from seeing your story, search for or tap on their names.When you're done, tap in the top right corner.The Close Friends list is a special list you can choose to share your story with.You can only send stories to those users if you choose to.You can control who can send you messages in response to your stories.The "Save to Archive" option is required if you use the Highlights feature.Allow sharing as message if you want to allow people to share your stories as direct messages.If you want your story posts to be automatically syndicate to your Facebook story, you should enable "Share Your Story to Facebook."When you're done, tap.

Step 10: You can snap a photo.

In mode, you can just add a still photo.If the photo is already on your phone or tablet, tap the gallery icon at the bottom- left corner to pull up your photos, then tap to add a photo.To take a new photo, tap the camera with two curved arrows at the bottom-right corner to switch between the back and front cameras.The flash can be turned on or off by using the lightning icon at the top-center part of the screen.If you want to use a virtual reality filter, you have to go through the options at the bottom of the screen.They could still be cool for photos, even though they work a little better for video.To take a photo, tap the large circle at the bottom of the screen.You will have a chance to modify the preview before posting.To start editing your photo, skip to Step 7.

Step 11: It's a good idea to record a video.

You can record video in a variety of ways.If your video is more than 15 seconds long, it will be broken into 15-second clips and uploaded to your story in order.To post a video from your camera roll, tap the gallery icon at the bottom left corner.To record a new video, tap the camera with two curved arrows at the bottom-right corner and use the lightning icon to switch between the back and front cameras.If you want to use a virtual reality filter, you have to tap an effect at the bottom of the screen.If you're using Hands-Free mode, you can tap and hold the large circle at the bottom-center of the screen to start recording.A preview will appear if you lift your finger from the button.To turn the video's sound on or off, tap the speaker.

Step 12: You can choose a filter.

After uploading or recording, there are a few ways to add filters.The virtual reality filters that can still be applied after recording can be found at the top of the screen.Some filters won't be available at this point.

Step 13: To add text, tap Aa.

You can type what you want on a photo or video with the spring open option.After typing, you can access the color and fonts by closing the keyboard.The style options at the top allow you to experiment with weights and fonts.To change the text position, drag your caption.To change the size or orientation of your text, use two fingers.When you're done, tap.

Step 14: You can draw by tapping the line.

It's at the top of the screen.You can draw on the photo or video by dragging your finger across the screen.You can use an eraser to modify your lines, as well as different pens to draw with, at the top of the icons.The pen size can be increased or decreased with the help of the slider on the left.To draw with a color, tap the colored circles at the bottom of the screen.The "Undo" button is located in the top- left corner.When you're done, tap "done" on the screen.

Step 15: The sticker icon can be used to add features.

The square icon has a turned-down corner.There are dozens of extra goodies on this screen.Adding tags is one of the options you can find.If you want to add animated stickers from GIPHY, tap to do so, or scroll down and select one of the basic sticker suggestions at the bottom.You can adjust the sizes of these stickers using pinching gestures.You can ask your followers to vote on stuff or create a multiple-choice quiz.If you choose the feature, your followers can respond to questions regardless of whether you've allowed or not.To play music in the background, tap to select a song clip.

Step 16: This post can be added to your story.

It is at the bottom.Your followers will see your story at the top of their feeds.If you want to save your video or photo to your phone or tablets, you have to tap the downward-pointing arrow at the top- left corner.You can do this even if you don't share your story with others.If you want to share with people on your Close Friends list, tap instead.To send a post to specific people, tap at the bottom-right corner and choose people to share it with.

Step 17: You can open your story.

To do this, you have to tap your profile photo at the top left corner of the screen.This plays the beginning of your story.

Step 18: You should be able to see who has viewed your story.

The icon of an eye with a number next to it is at the bottom of your screen if anyone has seen your story.You can see the list of followers who have viewed your photo.If you have posted multiple photos or clips to your story, you can see who has viewed each individual photo by moving your finger to the top of the screen.Once you are done reviewing your story viewers, tap the X in the top-right corner of the screen.

Step 19: The More icon can be used for additional options.

There are three dots at the bottom of the screen.You can remove this post from your story with the tap on the menu.You can share this post with others.Advertisers mentioned in your story can be tagged with a tap.To modify your privacy preferences, tap.

Step 20: You can add a story post to your highlights.

You can keep certain content visible on your profile by using Highlights.At the top of your profile, people can view your highlights.You can open the Add to Highlights menu by tapping the heart at the bottom of your story.There are two ways to create a new Highlights album.If you're making a new album, you can give it a name and choose a cover image.You can manage Highlights on your profile once you've created them.
