How To Use MEGA Sync Client on Windows

You can access, manage and sync your files from your Windows desktop with the MEGA sync client.You don't need a web browser to use the desktop app.The cloud drive will be used to store your files in the background.You can manage MEGA's local files and local folders after setting up the app according to your preferences.

Step 1: Go to Mega.

The download link for the Windows app can be found at https://mega.co.nz.

Step 2: You can download a client.

The setup file will be downloaded if you click on the box with the Windows logo.

Step 3: You need to install the mega sync client.

The setup file is on your computer after the download.Double-clicking on this file will begin the installation.

Step 4: You have to log in.

You will be asked for your account before the installation is complete.The program can fetch your files from your cloud drive.Click the button if you have your email address and password.

Step 5: You can choose the install type.

Once your account has been verified, you will be asked to choose between a "full account sync" or "selective sync."Only selected folders are syncs from your cloud drive.Click on the radio button if you want to go to the next one.

Step 6: It's time to finish the setup.

Click the "Finish" button after everything's configured.The cloud drive will be mirrored to the local folder.

Step 7: Allow MEGA to sync.

The notification toolbar on the lower right corner of your desktop is where the MEGA sync client will reside as long as it's running.When it's running, you can identify it by its logo of a red circled M.

Step 8: There are files to add.

If you want to add files to your MEGA account, you can use the normal Windows operations.To copy or move files, you can drag them into the folder or use the keyboard.The files you put into this folder will be uploaded to your cloud drive.

Step 9: You can move files.

Similar to Step 1, normal Windows operations are used to move and copy files.If you click on a file, you can copy it, cut it or paste it.Changes you make in your local MEGA folder will be reflected on your cloud drive.

Step 10: There are files that should be deleted.

The normal Windows operations can be used to remove files from the MEGA folder.Click on a file and then press "Delete" on your keyboard.You can drag the file to your recycle bin.The files from this folder will be removed from your cloud drive.

Step 11: You can add folders.

If you want to add folders to your cloud drive for better file organization and structure, just use the normal Windows operations.You can right-click on the folder and select from the context menu.You can now name the new folder.The new folders you create locally inside the MEGA folder will be uploaded and reflected in your cloud drive.You can add, move, or copy files once the folder has been created.

Step 12: You can move the folders.

Similar to Step 1, normal Windows operations are used to move and copy your MEGA folder.You can copy a whole folder if you don't want to add files one by one.The files inside that folder will be moved or copied.Changes you make in your local MEGA folder will be reflected on your cloud drive.

Step 13: The folders need to be deleted.

The normal Windows operations can be used to remove the MEGA folder.Click on a folder and then press the "Delete" button on your keyboard.You can drag the folder to your recycle bin.All the files inside the deleted folder will be removed from your local MEGA folder and your cloud drive.
