How To Use Square

Step 1: You can go to the website.

If you want to use a password, enter it in the create password field.Make sure that your password is hard to guess because Square involves monetary transactions.Passwords using letters, numbers, and other characters are stronger.You shouldn't use a password on another site.Your password has to be at least 8 characters long.You can show the password by clicking Show.If you can't remember your password, write it down on a piece of paper.

Step 5: Click the Country (Language) menu if you have to.

The United States is the default.

Step 6: Click on Continue.

Step 7: Give a description of your business.

What type of business is it?Click on the phrase that best describes your business.The phrase that best describes your business can be found under the Business category.Depending on what you chose in the first menu, the Business category will have different options.Everything is optional on this screen.

Step 8: You can enter the name of your business.

What is your name?The name of your business should be entered.You can enter your own name if you don't have a name for your business.

Step 9: Enter your employer identification number if you have one.

If you're setting up a Square account on behalf of an employer, you should enter your EIN.You can add the number later if you don't have it now.

Step 10: Square will use your information to verify your identity.

You can enter your legal first and last name.You can enter your current address.You should enter your date of birth.You need to enter the last four digits of your Social Security Number.You can enter your phone number.This information will be used by Square to verify your identity.The field on this screen is required.

Step 11: Click continue.

Step 12: You can enter a phone number or email.

You'll get an email with a link you can use to download the Square Register app.

Step 13: The Square Register app is available for download.

The Square Register app can be downloaded from the iTunes Store.The Square Register app can be downloaded from the Play store.

Step 14: You should add your bank account.

You will need to link the Register app with a bank account to receive payment.Go to the Register app.Touch the gear icon.Touch the horizontal lines.If you want to open a bank account, you need to touch Link Bank Account.Continue.You can find it on your checks.A 9-digit number is what it is.Your account number can be found on your checks.It's an 8-digit number.

Step 15: Go to your dashboard.

You have to add items to sell before Square can accept payments.Go to thedashboard at squareup.com.

Step 16: Start with a new item.

Click on items.Click to create an item.

Step 17: You can create a new item.

You can type an item name in the item field.The item price can be typed in the regular field.Click it to save.The other fields are optional, but you can add things like Categories, Descriptions, and Inventory amounts.

Step 18: You can accept in-person payments with the Square Reader.

Go to the Register app.The Square Reader can be plugged into the headset jack.There is an item being sold.The card needs to be swiped through the reader.

Step 19: Accept payments without the Square Reader.

Go to the Register app.You can enter a custom amount using the keypad.Touch the charge.The card number, security code, and billing ZIP code can be entered by touching the card.Touch the button.You can have the customer sign or write "phone or internet order" and then have them sign it.
