You can learn how to save a location and add a marker to it on a mobile and desktop computer.You can save locations to lists.When you sign in with your account, there is a marker on the map that matches the lists.You can use a web browser or the My Maps app to create a custom map.You can view My Maps created on a web browser on any device, even if it's not an iPad or iPhone.
Step 1: Open the maps on the internet.
There is a red location marker on a road map.If you're signed into maps, this will open the map view.If prompted, sign in with a Google account.
Step 2: You can find a location on the map.
To find a location on the map, you can either scroll to it or use the search bar at the top of the app.The location is displayed on the map.
Step 3: Hold the location.
A pop-up menu is displayed at the bottom of the app when a large red marker is placed on the location.
Step 4: Use the tap to save.
There are three tabs at the bottom of the map.It's next to an icon that looks like a book mark.
Step 5: To save the location, tap a list.
There are three pre-made lists."Favorites", " Want to go" and "starred places" are included.The location is saved when you tap a list.There are markers on the map for each location in the list.You can create a new list by tapping in the upper-right corner.You can type a name on the bar.
Step 6: You can open the maps on the internet.
There is a red location marker on a road map.If you're signed into maps, this will open the map view.If prompted, sign in with a Google account.
Step 7: You can tap.
The icon has three horizontal lines in the upper left corner.The menu is displayed to the left.
Step 8: You can tap your places.
The first option in the menu is left.This shows where you are.
Step 9: The Saved tab has a tap on it.
The second tab is at the top of the screen.You can see all the saved lists here.
Step 10: There is a list.
"Favorites", "Starred places" and " Want to go" are some of the pre-made lists under the saved tab.You can add a location by tapping the list.To create a new list, tap the icon with the blue, green, yellow, and red plus sign in the lower-right corner.Pick a name for the map.
Step 11: Add by tap.
The list name is at the top of the screen.
Step 12: You can type a location's name.
There is a list of search results.
Step 13: You can add the location by tapping it.
When you see the location you want to add, tap it to show the details.
Step 14: Add by tap.
Below the details is the second tab.You can add the location to your map.There is a marker on your map.
Step 15: You can find the maps in a web browser.
This will open the map view of the website.Click in the top-right corner of the page if you aren't signed into the service.
Step 16: Click it.
It can be found in the upper- left corner of the website.The menu is displayed to the left.
Step 17: You can click on your places.
It's on the left side of the menu.It's next to an icon that looks like a map marker.This shows your saved locations.
Step 18: Click on the saved tab.
The second tab is at the top of the menu.You can see the lists of saved locations.
Step 19: To the right of a list name, click.
There are a number of pre-made lists, including favorites, want to go, and red locations.You can add a location marker by clicking the icon with three dots next to the list.A pop-up menu is displayed.To create a new list, click the blue icon with the plus sign in the lower-right corner of the menu to the left.
Step 20: Click to change the list.
This shows all the locations in the lists.
Step 21: Click and add a place.
It's at the top of the list.There is a search bar at the top of the list.
Step 22: In the search bar, type the name of the place or address.
There is a list of search results.
Step 23: You can add the location by clicking on it.
The location is added to the lists.The marker that corresponds to the list will appear on the map.
Step 24: The My Maps app is available for download.
My Maps can be found in the Play Store.It has an icon that looks like a red sheet of paper with a white marker.Go to the Play Store.Go to the search bar and type My Maps.You can find my maps in the search results.The Install button is green.
Step 25: Go to My Maps.
You can open My Maps by tapping the icon on your homescreen or apps menu.
Step 26: You can tap the blue icon.
A blue icon with a plus sign in the middle creates a new map.It is in the lower right corner of the app.If you already have a map, you can use the front page list to open it.
Step 27: You can type a name for the map.
To type a name for the map, use the line labeled "Title".
Step 28: It is possible to type a description for the map.
To add a description to the map, type in on the line labeled "Description".
Step 29: It's ok to tap.
This will create a new map and show a blank map.
Step 30: The search bar has a tap on it.
It is at the top of the My Maps app.
Step 31: You can type the address or location name.
Below the search bar, there is a list of matching search results.The blue plus icon can be found in the lower-right corner of the map.Then tap again.You can add a marker by dragging the marker on the map.Then tap again.
Step 32: You can find the location in the search results.
When you see the location you want to add a marker for, tap it to show the full address and mini-map below the search result.
Step 33: You can add to the map.
The blue text appears when you tap on it.The "Edit details" menu is displayed.
Step 34: tap Ok if you want to review the details.
The location is given a name by the maps.You can change the name on the line labeled "Name".You can provide a description of the location on the line labeled "Description".If you have multiple layers for a map, you can choose the layer you want to add the marker to in the drop-down menu labeled "Layer".The desktop website needs to be used to add new layers.
Step 35: There is a tap.
The checkmark icon can be found in the upper-right corner of the page.When you're done editing the details, tap this icon.The marker is added to the map.You can add markers as you please.To change the details of a map, you need to tap the marker on the map and then the icon that looks like a pencil.
Step 36: You can tap the blue icon.
There is a blue icon in the lower right corner of the map.You can add a new marker and line with this option.
Step 37: You can add a new line.
You can use this option to make a line on your map.
Step 38: The "X" icon is where you want the line to start.
The "X" icon should be in the center of the map where you want it.
Step 39: The icon is blue.
When you have the "X" icon placed where you want the line to start, you can use the blue icon to create a starting point.
Step 40: You can drag the line and tap the blue icon.
The pivot-point is created by this.You can add another line from the pivot-point by dragging the map.Do this whenever you want the line to change direction.
Step 41: There is a tap.
There is a checkmark icon on the map.When you get to the end of your line, tap this icon.
Step 42: It is possible to type a line and description.
To add a name and description, type it on the line labeled "Name" and "Description".
Step 43: There is a tap.
To finalize the line, tap the checkmark icon in the upper-right corner.To change a line, tap it on the map and then tap the icon that looks like a pencil in the lower-right corner.You can change the name or description by using the pencil icon on the map.You can adjust the pivot points by tapping or dragging them.
Step 44: Go to a website using a web browser.
On PC or Mac, you can use any web browser.The website is for My Maps.
Step 45: You can create a new map.
There is a red button in the upper-right corner.A large map is displayed.
Step 46: The bar has a search function.
It is at the top of the map.
Step 47: You can type a location's name.
Below the search bar, there is a list of search results.
Step 48: You can add a marker to the location.
A green temporary marker is placed on the location after this jump.
Step 49: The marker is green.
The address and details of the location are displayed in a pop-up.
Step 50: Click to add a map.
There is a marker on the map.You should add as many markers as you need.Click the marker icon below the search bar to add a marker to the map.You can change a marker location by dragging it on the map.Click a marker location and then click the pencil icon in the pop-up to modify the details.
Step 51: The icon has three dots connected by lines.
The search bar is at the top of the page.This is an icon.
Step 52: You can click on an option.
There are four ways to draw a line.Adding a line or shape is one of the things they include.You can choose the option that best suits the map you want to create.
Step 53: You can start the route by clicking the starting point.
Click the marker if the starting point is one of the markers you created.Click anywhere you want the route to start.
Step 54: Click the end of the route.
There is a line between the starting and end point.Click where you want the line to start to create your own line.The pivot-point can be added by clicking where the line changes direction.If you want the line to change direction, click where the next location is.You should do this until you get to the end of the line.Click the final pivot-point to complete the line.
Step 55: You can open the app or website.
You can use the app on a mobile device.
Step 56: Click or tap.
The icon has three horizontal lines.It can be found in the upper-right corner of the app or website.The menu is displayed to the left.
Step 57: Click or tap your location.
You can find it in the menu to the left.This shows your saved locations and markers.
Step 58: Either way, you can click or tap the Maps tab.
The last tab is at the top of the menu.You can see all the maps you created with My Maps.
