How To You have to get on the Honor Roll in middle school.

There are many reasons why you should be on the honor roll this year. The semester was a success and it makes you feel accomplished. This will take a lot of work, but it's worth it at the end.

Step 1: You can study in the summer.

Do you remember what was challenging last year? You can find a good website, get a book from your library or find one on Amazon. If you don't feel like studying over the summer, you can invite a friend over for a study session or go to a museum if you have the time. There are many ways to review what you know when school is out.If it's not enjoyable and you don't want to do it, then you will learn less and it will be frustrating.

Step 2: Prepare for next year's classes if you want to.

If you excelled last year, you might want to cover next year's material. You aced every math test you had last year and are going into 6th grade.Print out some 6th grade level tests and see how you do if it's too easy for you.If all of the 6th grade material is easy, you could skip a grade. You have a head start on some things when you prepare over the summer.

Step 3: You should get all of the school supplies.

You can get school supplies at Office Depot, Office Max, or another store. If you wait until school starts, everything will be gone.Bring your school supply list with you when you go a week or two early. If you want to get good grades, try three-ring or zipper binders, they hold a lot and are very organized. Here is a general list, though it may vary from school to school.

Step 4: On the first day, make a good impression on your teachers.

This does not mean that you should be a teacher's pet.Don't put gum under the desks or call out without raising your hand, that's what it means.Even if you don't like them, be respectful. The rule is that you have to be respectful to teachers, but they need to gain your respect.Being friends with your teachers will make the year more enjoyable, even if you don't get better grades.

Step 5: Don't forget to pay attention in class.

You can't expect to get all A's the whole year if you want to be an honor roll student.Listen to the teacher, you're at school to learn. If you accidentally start daydreaming, make sure to catch back up on the topic, and try to avoid it.If it's necessary, make sure to take notes. You have something to reference back to.You can record your homework on a piece of paper. It is a good idea to record test dates.

Step 6: Raise your hand if you have a question.

If you leave your question unanswered, you might get confused in class and it can be embarrassing to go out of your comfort zone.If you're really embarrassed, you can ask the teacher or a friend.

Step 7: Do your homework right away.

You will be undisturbed if you do it in a quiet place.Ask your parents or siblings if you need help.If you have a question, email your teacher or go online to find an answer.Try to get your family to help first so that you can get one-on-one help.

Step 8: You shouldn't put off studying or doing a project until the last minute.

Every day until the deadline, do a little bit. This can be hard to plan out, but look at how long you have left to do it.A poster board on the Aztecs is due in a week.To make a fiction story, you have to get 3 resources from online and 3 from books, and include 10 real facts from those resources. You have to draw a detailed drawing for part of your story. This is a good description of what you might have to do.You could get your sources on the first and second nights.Make sure they're trustworthy. The third, fourth, and fifth nights are when you should get your facts. The last few nights can be used to make sure the picture is perfect. You will want to plan the whole thing out like that.

Step 9: Be organized!

If you don't turn something in on time, your teachers will mark you off points. One of the biggest reasons things are late is that you can't find the paper in your binder or leave it at home.If your teacher doesn't forgive, that A could turn into a B or worse. It's due to organization issues that you could have forgotten to do it.Maybe you forgot to write it down because your pencil was buried in the pit of papers in your binder.Keep a record of what you have to do.Homework, tests, projects, and even if you are meeting in a different room one day for class.Have an organizational day. It's a good idea to clean out your locker and binder. If you don't know you'll need them again, put your graded papers in a folder far away from your binder.Every school subject should have a folder. You should use your folders. It pays off in the long run when you're in a hurry. If you can't do it between classes, try home.

Step 10: Know the different styles of your teachers.

Some teachers are the best ever, and some will be the worst ever. Some will be strict and some easy going. That's not the only thing.Different teachers have different rules. You have to learn about the requirements early in the year so you don't lose points for being picky about things. If you have your first, last, hour, and date in the upper right hand corner, you might be able to get work from some teachers. They might take points off of your paper if you don't do that specific thing.I had a teacher like this.

Step 11: Don't give up if you are struggling in the subject.

If you don't need a tutor, just study with a few friends. If you don't understand the teacher, stay after school and try your best.If you don't get on the honor roll, it's okay if you do the best you can.Be proud of what you did and try again.
