Humanistic and Existential Theory: Frankl, Rogers, and...

The theory promotes better self-awareness.It encourages personal growth by placing a higher level of focus on what the current reality offers each individual. It is possible to achieve more if you look for specific patterns and find ways to change them. Each person has their own meaning to life.

The theory suggests that every human is trying to find the best way to be their best version of themselves on a daily basis.

The main motivation of humanity is to find the meaning of life according to the theory.

The theory tries to combine the similarities of both theories into a single option.

The process to find the best version of oneself is very similar to the process of finding the meaning of life. The two theories that are very different are how people look to achieve results.

The value is placed on the human's ability to make their own decisions. It takes personal responsibility and free will to do so.It is possible for an individual to lead their own life when success occurs.

Universal concepts that may be important to the individual are brought into the theory.People need to believe in something higher than they are. There are many ways in which this belief can manifest itself.

Positive components of human nature are stressed by both theories.Instead of focusing on what a person lacks, the theory focuses on their strengths. It is within those qualities that one can find answers to their questions.

The theory looks at a person who has the potential to do something positive at any given moment, instead of looking at them as being weak or incomplete.Guidance is offered to help each person recognize this fact.

There is a fundamental difference between the two points of view. The purpose of human nature is involved.

The theory would teach that humans are inherently good if it were kept separate.compromises that people are forced to make are what cause the bad choices that a person may eventually make.Society makes people do bad things, not the other way around.

Think of it like this.A man is cheating on his wife. There is nothing bad about the husband.Pressure was put on the husband to have an affair. The affair is the result of society acting upon him.

Existentialism has a different approach. It shows that humans are capable of doing good and bad.The choices that the person makes are based on the influences of good and evil that are constantly at war inside of them.

Think of it like this. The husband cheated on his wife. The husband could have avoided the affair, but he didn't.The husband chose bad instead of good after considering the consequences of both the positive and the negative. The affair is a reflection of the evil side.

There is a difference between the two perspectives that needs to be bridged. It is done by following various types of belief about the universe. Here are a few examples.

Everyone is a little different when it comes to how they combine these elements. That is the reason why the theory is a core concept. Each unique perspective can be understood if a relationship is formed between people.
