I want to do my masters in Canada but Im confused between going to Ottawa or Saskatchewan Which should I go to

I went to school at the University of Saskatchewan and still live in the great province. The UofS has a very good Agriculture and Bioresources program. So I’m partial to it and also the province.

However it has only two cities over 200000 in population whereas southern Ontario has several million including Toronto which is about 6 million the last time I looked. So if you like the big city amenities go with Ottawa. If you appreciate being ten minutes away from the rural landscape with wildlife and wide open spaces, pick Saskatchewan.

The climate can be harsh in both places.Saskatchewan gets very cold in the winter but as we say “it’s a dry cold” which means there’s very little humidity.Terrible for your skin but you can tolerate quite cold temperatures and be okay with proper clothing.

Ottawa doesn’t get long cold snaps like the prairies but they get more humidity off the Great Lakes which can make the cold unbearable. We don’t get near the amount of snow on the prairies most winters.

Go to Ottawa. It’s a beautiful city and you will like the activities here year round. We boast of two highly rated universities.

Carleton and U of Ottawa which is bilingual.French and English.I attended here.

Saskatchewan may be boring for you.The country is very flat.Prairies.

Flat, flat, flat as far as the eye can see.For miles.

Are you doing a masters with Thesis? If so, find a professor that works in that area and would like to work with you.S/he is likely to be connected to people who would help you publish your research and get greater academics acceptance.
