Is it possible to turn a TV into a picture frame using a device?

Sometimes you set your camera to video mode when you want to take a picture. When you review your pictures, you realize that you really like the way that video turned out, and you wish you could take a frame from it to make a digital photo. The article explains how to take a video file and make a picture out of it.

To play your video file, make sure you have the correct files. You already have the necessary codecs if you can play the video without a problem.

One simple solution is to download and install a codec pack. The K-Lite Codec Pack is my preferred pack. This guide will use the media player in the Standard, Full, and Mega versions of the pack. You can find a link to download the K-Lite Codec Pack in the "Resources" section.Follow the instructions in the file to install the pack.Everything you need should be included in the default install options.

The Media Player Classic program will be used later in this guide if you already have your codecs.

Run the program after you have installed Media Player Classic. The interface you're presented with is similar to the one in this image.

The options window will open.Click on the word "Output" in the left-hand pane.Under the heading "Direct Show Video," make sure that the "System Default" item is selected. The "Overlay Mixer" option is normally selected in a brand-new installation of Media Player Classic.

You can open the video file from which you want to extract a frame with Media Player Classic. In the top menu bar, choose "File" and you will be presented with a window like in the image here.Click the button next to the Open dialog to find the video file you want to open.
