Making pompom flowers is a fun and inexpensive way to add a colorful touch to almost anything.
Step 1: All the corners should be aligned by laying your paper out.
Depending on the thickness of the paper, you'll want to use between 8 and 13 sheets per pompom.The more sheets you use, the thinner the paper is.
Step 2: It's a good idea to fold your paper like a fan.
The edge of the paper should be folded in one inch.When you flip over the entire stack of paper, do the same thing on the other side.Continue until you have a strip of paper with accordion folds.
Step 3: The edges should be cut down.
The paper should be trimmed after it is folded.Round the corners for soft, feminine looking pompoms.Cut them to a point.Don't worry, you will get the cuts you want.While shaping the edges of the paper will have an effect on the shape of pompoms, you won't be able to notice small mistakes once they have been folded out.
Step 4: Cut off 9 to 10 inches of floral wire.
Put it in half.
Step 5: The wire should be on the paper.
It should be placed close to the center of the paper.To keep it in place, twist the ends of the wire together.Don't worry about the wire being tight.It will be easier to fan out the pompom if the wire is slightly loosened.
Step 6: To make a loop, bend the excess wire.
To tie a knot, thread the fishing line through the wire.You will use the fishing line to hang the pompom later.
Step 7: Take out the pompom.
Lift the top sheet of paper slowly.If you want to repeat, flip the pompom over and repeat.Continue until the paper is fluffed.If you do not use gentle, slow movements, you risk ripping the paper.To push each piece up as far as possible, try running your first and index fingers along the accordion folds from the outside of the pompom to the middle.
Step 8: Attach a tack to the fishing wire and hang the pompom.
Have a good time with your new decoration.
Step 9: Take a piece of cardboard and make a circle.
The size of the circle is up to you, and you can make either small or large pompoms.
Step 10: The circle should be cut in half.
You should have the same circles.
Step 11: You should plan the honeycomb paper.
If you're going to use the paper, cut it down so that it's less than a sheet of scrap paper.Place one sheet of paper on top of the scrap piece.
Step 12: Plan the glue lines.
Keeping it flat on the scrap paper, evenly divide the honeycomb paper into 4 to 8 sections.Draw lines on the scrap paper where each fold would be, instead of folding the honeycomb paper.Every other line is marked with an alternate mark.If you don't have scrap paper, you can use a pencil or thin pen to make these marks.If you are using a piece of paper that is 4.25"x5.5", you should spacing your lines between 1 1/2 and 1/2 inches apart.
Step 13: Pick the color of the line.
The glue stick should be run vertically across the honeycomb paper where you have made marks in that color.If you are using a thin paper such as tissue paper, hold it firmly and gently work your glue stick from the middle of the paper to the edges to prevent tearing.
Step 14: Put another piece of paper on top of the glue.
To make sure it sticks, Rub it firmly.
Step 15: Apply glue.
Glue along the lines of the opposite color.Rub across the tissue paper to make sure the glue sticks are there.
Step 16: 30 to 40 sheets of paper are needed.
The honeycomb effect will continue if you alternate glue lines between the sheets.If you want a multi-colored pompom, change the color of your paper halfway through the process.If you want a stripe pattern, change the color of your paper every 5 sheets.
Step 17: The paper needs to be cut.
Place a semicircle on top of the paper and trace around it.Cut out the paper so that it is larger than the cardboard.
Step 18: Attach the semicircles to the honeycomb paper.
Glue one piece of cardboard onto each side after you have cut out the honeycomb paper.
Step 19: Use the thread and needle.
Pull the threaded needle at the top corner of your semi circle.Attach a loose knot, cut the thread, and repeat on the bottom corner.The pompom will not open if you leave some slack in your knots.You can hang the pompom later if you leave the thread long on one end.
Step 20: The cardboard should be held on both ends.
Pull apart slowly and round into a ball.As you open the pompom, you should see the honeycomb pattern.
Step 21: Attach the cardboard pieces together.
The spherical shape can be held by the pompom.
Step 22: Hang.

Step 23: The paper should be cut into squares.
It will help you avoid flowers that are too large.Your gift size affects the size of the squares.You will need to make smaller squares if the gift is small.If the gift is large, you may want to make the biggest squares possible.
Step 24: Put your squares together.
Four squares per flower is what you should have.
Step 25: The stack should be folded in half.
There should be 16 layers in your stack.
Step 26: To create a triangle, fold the stack in half.
If you repeat, you will have an even smaller triangle.
Step 27: The sides of the triangle should be folded up.
The triangle should be even smaller.
Step 28: Using the folded edge as the point, draw a half circle onto the widest part of the triangle.
It should span from side to side.
Step 29: Go along the line.
The top of the triangle should be removed.
Step 30: Take the tissue paper and open it.
The petals should be slightly offset to make a flower.Stack all the layers to make a pompom.
Step 31: Place the stack in half.
There is a hole in the center.You can string ribbon or twine through the hole.
Step 32: You can flatten the petals by opening the flower.
The petals should be fluffed out to create a flower effect.If you want a flower, leave the last piece flat.If you want to make a pompom, fluff 8 sheets up and the other 8 down.
Step 33: A gift has a tie on it.
Tie around your gift with twine or ribbon.
Step 34: It was finished.
