Sweetin was born in Los Angeles.She was adopted when she was nine months old by Sam Sweetin and his second wife, and was raised by her parents in prison.The adoption was not finalized until she was two years old because her birth father was a Native American.She said she was told not to talk about her adoption publicly because people would think she had been coerced into acting.[4]
