Run hot water over the rope to get rid of the excess dye.The water should be changed from hot to cold over time.Continue until the rope is clear of water.Continue using warm water if the color is too dark.When you are happy with the color, you should switch to cold water.
Step 14: Wrap the rope around again.
Pull out the remaining water from the rope once the excess dye is removed.Re-wrap the rope and let it hang to dry.The rope may lighten in color as it dries.If you want to account for this, leave the color a little darker.
