David Andrew Burd, better known as "Lil Dicky", is an American rapper, comedian and actor.The release of the music video of his song "Ex-Boyfriend" on April 25, 2013, became popular with more than one million views in 24 hours.On July 31, 2015, he released his debut album.

His song "Freaky Friday", featuring Chris Brown, became a worldwide hit.He gained attention for his music video "Earth", which featured many singers and actors including Ariana Grande, Ed Sheeran, Shawn Mendes, Kevin Hart, and Charlie Puth.The song was made to raise awareness about the environment.According to Burd, a portion of the song's proceeds are going to environmental charities.[2]

A television comedy series based on Burd's life called Dave was created in 2020 and was renewed for a second season in 2020.[4]

Burd was born in Cheltenham Township, on the north border of Philadelphia, and grew up in an upper-middle-class Jewish family.He was born with hypospadias, in which the urethra does not open from its usual location in the head of the penis, requiring multiple surgeries.[6]

When Burd was a child, he listened to hip hop and alternative rock.He began rhyming in the fifth grade after doing a history report.Nas and Jay-Z were the hip-hop and rap music artists Burd listened to most in his youth.[8]

Burd attended high school.Burd said he was a pussy in high school.I was not very nice looking.I got good grades because I was class-clownish and I wasn't getting any girls.Dave East attended the same University as Burd after graduating from high school.Burd graduated summa cum laude in 2010.10

Burd moved to San Francisco to work at the advertising agency Goodby, Silverstein & Partners.He was hired by the company to work in their creative department, where he wrote copy for ads such as the NBA's "BIG" campaign.[5]

Burd says he started his rap career to get attention, so he could write movies, write TV shows and act.He says he's not leaving the game until he proves his point.[13]

Burd started working on his debut album in 2011.Burd had his day job at Goodby, Silverstein & Partners while he was working on the project.Burd recorded most of his early material for So Hard on his MacBook Pro and a $400 microphone and began releasing one song per week for five months straight.On April 23, Burd released the music video for his song "Ex-Boyfriend".The music video was viewed one million times in 24 hours.Burd released a new song or music video.Burd launched a Kickstarter after the release of 32 songs and 15 music videos.Phase two of my rap career is funded by you.The goal is to raise $70,000 in order to enable Burd to create and produce more music, music videos, and go touring.The project exceeded its target, raising $113,000.[19]

Burd held his first live concert in Philadelphia.Burd signed with a company that manages other people.He plans on having two concurrent careers going on, as a rapper and a comedian.On July 31, 2015, Burd released his debut album, Professional Rapper.At the Disco, RetroJace, and Hannibal Buress.Burd was in a video with Mystikal and Trinidad James.The 2016 Freshmen line-up was released in June.Burd was included along with Anderson.Paak, Kodak Black, 21 Savage, Dave East, and G Herbo.

Burd released a music video for "Pillow Talking".It was the 49th most expensive music video ever made.Burd mentioned in an interview that he was trying to pitch a TV show to networks, as well as creating a new project.Burd's alter ego is Brain, I'm Brain.On March 15, 2018, Burd released a new single, "Freaky Friday", featuring Chris Brown, and a music video.By April 9, the video had reached over 100 million views in New Zealand and the United Kingdom.On April 2, 2018, Burd announced his first Australian tour after studying abroad for two years.[28]
