Lipstick can be made natural.

You can make your own lipstick to make sure you know what is in your makeup. It allows you to make your own colors. Most of the materials for making lipstick can be found at craft and health food stores. If your local shops do not carry a specific ingredient, you can find it online.

Step 1: Put your materials together.

Most of these materials can be purchased at your local health food store. They are easy to purchase online, even though it is difficult to find in a shop.If you want to use Jojoba oil, make sure you seal it in a moist place.

Step 2: Choose your colors.

There are a variety of colors and materials. You can combine a few different colors to make your own, and it will give you a rich brownish-red color. The combination of Carmine, titanium dioxide, and pearl white mica will give you a red color. You will get a lovely coral color with the combination of red oxide, yellow oxide and titanium dioxide. How rich you want your color to be will affect how much you use.You can always add more or less to get the color richness that you want.

Step 3: It is possible to blend the pigments together.

If you combine the two, you might want to use a coffee grinder or a mortar and pestle. It is possible to keep the color evenly distributed once it is blended with oil and wax.

Step 4: Place the pigment in a small bowl.

It is good to have it handy since you won't add it to the oil and wax mixture until it is melted. You can mix it with the melted mixture while it is still warm.

Step 5: In a heat-proof container, combine oils and waxes.

You combine everything except for the optional flavoring in a container. You can mix the ingredients with a small spatula or popsicle stick.

Step 6: The ingredients must be melted together.

You can do this in either a double boiler or microwave. When using either method, be sure to stir the mixture regularly. For the double-boiler method, place the heat-proof container with the mixture inside it into a saucepan that is 1 to 2 inches full of water. The water should be hot.The container needs to sit securely. It should not be floating in the saucepan. In the microwave method, place the container with the mixture inside it and heat it in 10- to 15-second intervals, stirring in between.

Step 7: The melted oil and wax mixture should be added to your pigments.

Stir the mixture quickly as you add the pigment to make sure that it is well blended.

Step 8: Take the color into account.

To apply lip color to the back of your hand, use a small spatula or popsicle stick.Add more color to the mixture if it isn't rich enough.Continue to mix the mixture and then test it on your hand to see if you get the color you want.Make sure the mixture is not so hot that you burn yourself.

Step 9: The mixture can be poured into moulds, pots, or lip balm tubes.

It will make pouring much easier if you have a container with a spout. If you are using a bullet-style lipstick mould, you can use a cotton swab to get some oil around the inside of the moulds. This will make sure that the lipsticks don't stick to the mold when you remove them.

Step 10: Cool, it's cool.

The lipsticks can be put in the fridge for 30 minutes or the freezer for 10 minutes. They should be left in the fridge for up to an hour.Give them time to cool off. They are more likely to break if you take them too early.

Step 11: Place lipstick in tubes.

If you used a bullet-style lipstick mould, you will need to remove the bullets from it with a lipstick tube.Remove the top of the mold. Now is the time to expose the bottom of your lipstick bullet. To expose the lipstick holder, twist the base of your lipstick tube.Next, gently place the lipstick holder over the bullet-style lipstick and press down very gently, just enough to make contact with the base of the Lipstick. As you twist the holder back into the tube, lift the lipstick tube. The holder should put the bullet-style lipstick in the tube with it.

Step 12: Enjoy your lipstick!

You are done.Depending on the size of your moulds, lip balm holders, and bars, you should be able to make at least four sticks and several small jars from this recipe.

Step 13: Get your materials.

All of the ingredients are available at your local craft shop or health food store.

Step 14: All of the ingredients are put into a container.

Some experts suggest melting the wax and butter together and then adding the colorant after, although you can mix them all together.

Step 15: Continue to stir and heat until melted.

If you want to do this over the stove, place a heat-proof container into a saucepan with 1 or 2 inches of simmering water in it.This can be done in the microwave. The mixture can be microwaved at 15-second intervals. After 15 seconds, remove the container and stir the mixture to prevent it from burning.

Step 16: The mixture should be well blended.

Once it appears to be fully melted, remove the mixture from the heat source and stir it well to ensure that all of the ingredients are well combined.Don't forget to look out for any beetroot powder.

Step 17: Put it in a container.

If you want to be a bit fancy, you can use an empty lip balm tube, a small glass or plastic jar, or a lipstick mould.

Step 18: Allow for 1 hour to chill.

Cool the moulds in the refrigerator for an hour. They might not be fully hardened and could break if taken out while they are still warm.

Step 19: Have fun with your new lip color!

This recipe will make just over 2 ounces of lipstick, which will fill 13 traditionally sized (0.15-ounce) lip balm tubes.
