Love what you have.

It can be difficult to love your body with photoshopped media images constantly showing you in a bad light. The glamour shots and models seen in magazines and billboards are not real representations of what people actually look like, but it can be easy to feel expected to live up to those standards.Trying to achieve a perfect body is not possible.Everyone has their own unique shape.Your body is a part of what has taken you through life.

Step 1: Don't compare yourself to people.

Media, Hollywood, and popular culture influence our standards for beauty.Negative judgements of our bodies are developed through these outlets when we compare ourselves to glamorized movie stars. These images are altered by computers and are not realistic.Popular media can be hard to ignore, but you can loosen the majority rule by loving your body because it is real. When you see an image in a magazine, commercial ad, or some other media outlet, remind yourself that it's not real. The person you are looking at is most likely air brushed and altered to look like that. You shouldn't compare yourself to computerized images.

Step 2: Give yourself something to be happy about.

Loving yourself is the first step to love in your life. You should treat yourself the same way you would someone you love. You wouldn't critique another person's body for the same things you critique on yourself.Don't hesitate to give yourself a compliment, go easy on your mistakes, and forgive yourself when you make a mistake.Remove the self-hatred and replace it with understanding and appreciation.Say "I am attractive, confident, and amazing" in the mirror. You will see yourself in a more positive light when you keep that up.Let yourself know how proud you are when you accomplish a goal.Look into a mirror and say, "I am so proud of you."

Step 3: Try to practice gratitude.

Love your inner-self and appreciate what you have.Don't let the number on the scale or pant size define who you are or what you can do.When you look in the mirror, nothing good will come from being mean to yourself. When a bad situation presents itself, do not let it get you down. When you look back on it, ask yourself what you can learn from it.Don't criticize or be negative for ten days. You have to keep going if you slip up.You will be able to see how much energy was being wasted on negative thoughts.Write down the things you are grateful for in a journal. All of the gifts your body has given you should be celebrated.Your body has allowed you to have and record all of your great accomplishments, relationships, and activities.

Step 4: You can make a list of all the positive things in your life.

The key is to focus on what you like about yourself and your life.Making a list can help prevent this from happening.Pick one thing that you like about yourself, no matter how small. If you feel more confident in that thing, identify a second thing. When you hear a negative thought in your head, immediately focus on the things you love about yourself. You will eventually see more positive qualities.

Step 5: Don't be negative.

Don't let people rant about their bodies. They can make you think about what problems you may have. When your own self perception is more critical than what anyone else thinks, life is too precious to waste time self-loathing or knitting. If someone starts to bash or criticize their own body, don't do it.You can either change the subject or leave.

Step 6: Exude confidence.

You will feel good about yourself when you act like you have confidence. If you don't feel like you have any, pretend.tilt your head up and smile as you pull back your shoulders.Smiling is one of the most important things you can do to improve yourself.Inner confidence will follow if you are confident.

Step 7: Don't forget to practice healthy hygiene.

A refreshing shower every day will help you feel good about yourself and your body. After you shower, use soap, wash your face, and put on deodorant. This will help send positive thoughts to your mind and keep you refreshed.

Step 8: You should wear clothes that help you feel good.

Everything in your closet should appeal to you.If wearing something uncomfortable makes you feel self-conscious, don't wear it.You look better being yourself. To dress your body the way it deserves, wear clean clothes. If you are the only one who will see them, buy matching underwear and bras. This tells you that you are only doing this for yourself.

Step 9: Affirmatives are daily commitments.

Affirmations are positive statements that are meant to be repeated until the mind starts to believe them.Your brain can remember more easily if you say what you like about yourself. If you see fit, you can make your daily Affirmations your own, but make sure they are positive statements.Look into a mirror and say, "I am beautiful, loved, and I love myself as I am."

Step 10: A balanced diet is what you should eat.

To thank your body for all that it gives you, make a goal to eat fruits and vegetables every day. This will teach you how to respect your body and give you a glow. This doesn't mean that you have to follow a strict diet, but you should eat healthy and eliminate junk food.

Step 11: You should get regular exercise.

The best way to love your body is to participate in physical activities that are good for you.If you want to take care of your heart and overall health, don't just exercise to lose weight.Sports are an excellent way to release energy and have been shown to improve mood, whereas yoga is good for relaxation, core strength and general well being.

Step 12: Ask your friends what they think about you.

Ask your friends and loved ones what your best qualities are.Your body has given you many gifts and this will help boost your confidence. You will most likely be surprised by the things they see in you.Give your friend or loved one a compliment and then ask, "What do you think is my best quality?"

Step 13: You should surround yourself with people who love themselves.

People are influenced by the people around them.Positive influences in your life will help you love yourself inside and out.Look for people who work hard and respect themselves.

Step 14: You should follow after your role models.

Think about all of the people in your life and the things they have accomplished. Those individuals are well known and respected for their accomplishments outside of their bodies. This will help you remember that your body doesn't have to stop you in your tracks.Your body can help you achieve your goals.Think about your family members, close friends, or someone you have never met but always admired, and make a list of their best qualities. If their self- image or body kept them from achieving their goals, ask yourself if they made the list.
