Make a baby blanket.

Fleece can be used to make baby blankets. It is warm and soft and comes in many colors and patterns. The edges of the fleece don't need finishing or serging. There are many ways in which to make fleece baby blankets, but not all of them require sewing. You will end up with something truly unique if you make either version. Step 1: Cut two pieces of fleece. The blanket will be 36 by 36 inches with a fringe of 10.16-centimeters.You can either use the same color for each piece of fleece, or you can use two contrasting colors.A matching pattern can be used for one piece and a solid color for the other. Step 2: Cut a 4-inch (10.16-centimeter) square from each corner if you Stack the fleece pieces on top of each other. To make sure the squares match up, cut through both pieces of fleece at the same time.If you are using patterned fleece, make sure the right side is facing out. Step 3: Cut 4-inch (10.16-centimeter) long slits into all four edges. Attempt to cut through both layers of fleece at the same time. This will make sure that your tassels match up. Step 4: The top and bottom tassels should be tied in double-knots. Take the first tassel from the top and bottom pieces of felt. The two tassels have to be tied together. Step 5: On all four sides of the blanket, tie the tassels together. Work your way around the side, top, and other side after you finish the bottom row.Your blanket is ready to use once you have tied all of the tassels. Step 6: Cut two pieces of fleece. They can either be the same color or different colors. You can use a pattern for one piece and a solid color for the other. The blanket will be 36 by 36 inches with a fringe on all four sides. Step 7: Cut a 4-inch (10.16-centimeter) square out of each corner if you Stack the two pieces of felt. Attempt to cut through both layers of fleece at the same time. This will make sure that your edges match up.If you are using patterned fleece, make sure the right side is facing out. Step 8: The 4-inch (10.16-centimeter) long tassels need to be cut into all four sides of the blanket. Cut through both layers of fleece at the same time. Step 9: Cut a long slit into the top edge of the tassel. You need to make the slit right next to the body of the blanket and not the narrow/raw end. Step 10: The tassels should be pulled through the slit. From the bottom left corner, take the first tassel from the top and bottom pieces of fleece.Push them through the slit you made.Pull the tassels to tighten them. Step 11: Pull the tassels through the slits on the four edges of the blanket. This blanket is similar to the traditional tied, no-sew blanket, but because you are not tying the tassels together, you won't get as much bulk. Step 12: A piece of felt is cut to 37 inches. The blanket will be 36 by 36 inches with 12 inch (1.27-centimeter) hems. Step 13: Pin your blanket in place by folding the top and bottom edges down by 12 inch. Make sure the wrong side of the patterned blanket is facing you. Step 14: Using a zigzag stitch, sew the hems down. If you have a fancy sewing machine, make sure it is long and wide.Don't use seam allowances; simply sew over the seam.As you sew, remove the pins.Use a thread color that matches the blanket. Step 15: Attach the s ide edges. Place the side edges in place by folding them down by 12 inch.Use a zigzag stitch to sew over the seam. Step 16: It's time to finish the blanket. Go over your blanket with care.Remove any pins that are loose. The blanket is ready to use. Step 17: A piece of fleece is cut into 36 by 36-inch pieces. If you want the blanket to be double-sided, you should cut two pieces of fleece, one patterned and the other solid-colored. Step 18: Cut rounded edges onto the corners of your blanket with a bowl. Use a pen to trace the corners, then use a pair of scissors to cut them out.You won't have to sew the corners of your blanket when you add bias tape. You can use either a plate or a lid. Step 19: If necessary, sew the bias tape together. You will have to sew two or more lengths of bias tape together to make a single strand.Pin the bias tape together with the wrong side facing out.Using a 14-inch seam allowance, sew the two strands together. Step 20: The bias tape should be around the edge of the blanket. Take the edge of the blanket and put it into the bias tape. The sewing pin should be placed 3 inches (7.62 centimeters). Step 21: The bias tape has a raw edge. Take the excess bias tape off before you run out.Attach it by 12 inch and fold it under itself.Place it in place by pressing it flat with an iron. Step 22: Use a 18-inch seam allowance to sew around the bias tape. The bias tape matches the thread color. As you sew, remove the pins. Step 23: It's time to finish the blanket. Carefully trim off any loose threads after you check your blanket for missing pins.Your blanket is ready to be used.
