Nissan Rogue A/C/Heater not working properly, why is it?

When the Nissan Rogue doesn't have heat coming from the heater, it's one of the most inconvenient problems to have. It's a sign of certain issues if you don't have a functioning heater.

There are two main reasons why the heater isn't working. If it isn't coming on, it's usually either the blower motor or some other wiring issue. If the heat is blowing, but blowing cold, it has something to do with the coolant getting to the heater core.

The simplest way to work the heater is by passing hot coolant from the engine into a tiny radiator. At this point, the blower motor blows air across the vehicle and the newly heated air blows on to the driver and passengers. This process has failed in one way or another if the heater has stopped working.

If there is no coolant in your overflow, you can add more to it.Most of the time you wouldn't need to remove the radiator cap to add coolant. The exception to that would be when you have reason to believe that there is a problem with the hose. The fans in the engine can kick on even if you don't have a key, as long as you assume they are hot when you put your hand around them.

It can cause your car to not be able to create enough heat if you don't have enough coolant. The heater core won't be able to get any coolant if there is not enough line pressure.

If you take a peek at the overflow reservoir, you can verify this.A tube from the top will connect the overflow to the radiator. There should be separate lines for cool hot and cool cold. Some vehicles are very hot.Unless the vehicle is cold, don't touch the cap.

The temperature of the engine is regulated by your thermostat. It allows water to enter the engine when it gets hot, and keeps the cooling system from entering while the vehicle warms up.

Sometimes a thermostat stays open when it goes bad. This allows the engine's cooling system to work.It will feel like the heat is not working, or it will work if the vehicle isn't moving, but if you get on the highway it stops working.

If your Rogue has a built in temperature gauge, you can take a look at it and see if it's in the spot you want it to be after a bit of driving. It is a good sign that there is something wrong with the thermostat if it looks like it is colder than normal.

The core can go bad. They fail over time.It isn't going to be possible to pass coolant through a heater core that is clogged.Without the warm coolant going through it, there is no heat.A bad heater core can leak.If the passenger floorboard is wet, feel it.

There are hoses going to the core. They should both feel warm when the engine is on.If one of the hoses is hot and the other is cold, that is a good sign that the heater core is malfunctioning. If the neither hose has any heat, you may have air in the cooling system, low fluid, or low pressure.
