Perler beads are a lot of fun.My kids like to make perler bead designs.They will put the tiny beads on the peg boards for hours.

If you have never made perler beads before, you need to start by getting everything together.

A peg board is needed to design perler beads.You will need perler beads that are specifically made for this project.

Any topic and any holiday can be made into Perler beads.We have made perler beads for Halloween, Autumn, and Easter.

It is a lot of fun to create.It is a great way to spend time with your kids and teach them.Making perler beads increases concentration and focus.

You want to carry your perler bead creation to the ironing board while it is on the peg board.Place a sheet of paper over it.

Place your hot iron on the paper covered perler beads.Don't hold it for too long.Pick it up, move it, and press again.

You don't want to iron for too long or the beads will melt more than you want.You need to iron it long enough for the beads to come together.

You can't see the openings in the perler beads if you melt them.Some people prefer to iron them just enough so that you can still see the individual beads.

I like the idea of being able to see individual beads, but my kids prefer it to be melted so that you can't see the holes.

Wax paper is hard to remove from the perler beads.The easiest way to remove the wax paper is with water.Rub the wax paper off when you're done with your perler bead creation.

The iron should not touch the parts of the peg board that don't have beads on them.You risk melting the plastic peg board if you don't.Don't ask me how I know this.

You can peel the beads from the peg board once you have melted them.The exposed side of the perler bead design can be covered with another sheet of parchment paper.It should be sandwiched between two sheets of paper.

If you repeat the first step and iron the other side of the perler beads, they will be fused together on both sides.

You want to put a heavy book on top of the paper covered perler beads.The book should be left in place until the perler beads have cooled.

You can make an awesome perler bead.You can use them to decorate your fridge, or your child can play with them.
