Step 1: You shouldn't be using the SD card.

PhotoRec can be used for Windows, OS X, and Linux.

Step 3: The program needs to be extract.

It doesn't need to be installed.The photorec_os program can be found in the ZIP file.Your operating system will replace the os.The Windows version is called photorec_win.

Step 4: You need to insert your card.

If you want to connect your camera to the computer via the internet, you can either use an SD card reader or put it in the camera.

You will need to manually search through the recovered files to find the ones you're looking for.You can try a different data recovery option if you don't find the images you need.

Click image recovery to start ZAR.Look for a similar button in other programs.Some programs may not follow this step at all.

Step 20: Select your card.

Select your card in the "Disks and Partitions"The card should be labeled.The recovery Scan can be started by clicking next.

Step 21: Pick which files to recover.

You can see a list of the software on your card.Select the images you want to recover or restore the lost images.The files will most likely be lost if you can't preview them.

Step 22: There are places to store the recovered images.

Don't save the damaged card to the card.You can save the pictures to a folder on your computer.If something happens to your card again, this will keep your pictures safe.

Step 23: The files should be copied.

To restore the pictures, click Start copying the selected files.You can specify where the files will be saved.Some pictures may not be restored to their original state.The picture may be damaged even if the thumbnail looks okay.

Step 24: You shouldn't be able to access the SD card.

Step 27: Start data rescue 3.

You can find it in the "Applications" folder.Go to the main menu and select "Start New Scan".

Step 28: Select the card you want.

There is a list of drives in the Data Rescue window.From the list, select your card.You may be asked to pick the volume.If there are more than one volume, select the entire card.

Step 29: Choose your method of scanning.

Pick "Deleted Files Scan" for your first try.This will look through the free space to find deleted files.If this method doesn't produce any results, you can try another method.Once you have selected your type, click Start.

Step 30: Wait for the scans to complete.

If you are running a Deep Scan, the process may take a while.The Suspend button can be used if you need to pause the scans.

Step 31: The files you want to recover should be selected.

You will be presented with a list of possible files to recover after the scans has finished.If you want to recover a file, check the box next to it.The "found files" section of the results is where the files will be located if you did a Quick or Deep Scan.The "Reconstructed Files" section of the results is where the deleted files and deep scans are located.The name of the file will usually be lost.You can preview files by selecting them from the list and clickingPreview.Some file types can't be previewed.

Step 32: The files should be recovered.

Click Recover and choose a location on your computer to save the files to.Once you have found a location, click open.
