Sometimes the failure of the Roper dryer to heat up doesn't mean it's not functional.It is possible to disrupt your dryer's heating capability by checking your power supply.If your dryer isn't heating up, it may be a problem with the heating element, which is easy to fix.Don't call a repairman unless you're sure of the reason.A little elbow grease and a screwdriver can be used to fix a Roper dryer that isn't heating up.

Check your fuse box for tripped circuit breakers.The circuit breaker needs to be reset.Check the two fuses in the Roper dryer.

If you have a gas Roper dryer, check the gas line for leaks or damage.The supply valve should be at the "On" position.

Put the dryer on high heat for three minutes and turn it off.The heating element should be glowing if you open the door.The heating element needs to be replaced if it isn't heating up.

The heating element is on the right side of the can.

The wires leading to the heating element should be unplugged.Depending on the model of Roper dryer you have, this may require the use of a screwdriver.The wires should be firmly held with needle-nose pliers as close to the heating element connection as possible.
