When you're using a computer, phone, or tablet, you can learn how to send a message to another account.You can learn how to send a direct message if the message is private.
Step 1: You can open the account on the social media site.
If you're using a computer, sign into it with a web browser.If you're using a phone or tablet, you can tap the app icon on the home screen or drawer to open it.To "mention" a user, they need to tag their usernames.Mentions can be directed to one user.You can send a link to one or more users.You can include one or more users in a reply.Unless your account is private and they aren't following you, anyone you mention in a tweet will be notified.
Step 2: Click to send a message.
If you're using a computer, it's at the top-right corner.The feather is at the bottom-right corner if you're using the mobile app.
Step 3: Write down your content on a piece of paper.
tags, mentions, and links can be included in the length of a Tweets.
Step 4: You can type the person's name into the box.
The "@" symbol should be at the beginning of the usernames.If you place the mention at the beginning of the text, you will get different results.For example, if you say "hello!", you will get a direct reply from@wikiHow.Your followers won't follow you unless they do too.If you want to get a user's attention, place the@username anywhere in the beginning of the stream.If you mention them in a tweet, the user of the account will be notified.It will show up in your followers' feeds as usual.
Step 5: Attach media to the message.
The text box has a photo icon below it.You can take a new photo if you tap the camera icon on the mobile app.Attach an animated.GIF file with the icon.The bar graph icon can be used to add a poll.To tag your location, click the pushpin icon.
Step 6: Click or tap to send a message.
All users will be notified if they were mentioned in a tweet.Click or tap the bell icon at the top of the computer or the bottom on the mobile app to see a list of other users' mentions of you.
Step 7: You can open the account on the social media site.

Step 8: You can reply to the tweet.
You can either scroll to it in your feed or use the search box to find the user.
Step 9: Click or tap the chat bubble icon.
Below the bottom- left corner is where it is.There is a typing area in the pop-up.Clicking or tapping the date or time next to the original tweet will show the responses of other users.
Step 10: The text box is where you can type your response.
You can type up to 280 characters.If you want to include another user in your reply, you should start with the "@" symbol.The user is not made aware that you've included them in the conversation.
Step 11: Attach the media to the message.

Step 12: If you want to reply, click or tap.
This is your response to the user.You can view the conversation thread by clicking or tapping the date or time next to the original tweet.
