The purpose of the game is to combine matching tiles to create larger tiles.The game is over when the board is full.You have to plan your moves carefully if you want to get to the mythical tile.There are some tips and tricks you can use to get a better score in the game.
You only have four main gestures in 2048.Every time you move a tile on the board, it moves as far as it possibly can.Multiple cards can combine at the same time.Understand how moves work before you take a tile that may or may not end up where you thought it would.
It can be difficult to resist temptation and chase larger numbered tiles across the board.This can put you in a worse position than a better one.Rather than worry about a specific set of tiles, focus on combining smaller tiles.You end up making a tile that ends up next to it if they meet up at some point.
Staying in the corners makes it easier to bring in new tiles on the main game board.The best way to keep tiles grouped is into the corners.When you can, bring new tiles into the middle area and then use the corners to combine them.I move the entire board to the bottom left or diagonal if I start in the upper left corner.It's easier to shift strategy when you work in the corners.
This goes along with my first tip, but seriously.Look at the board and see what a 2 or 4 card will do to it.If you bring a 2 down on the other side you can create multiple matches in one move.You want to do that.
It's okay if you don't make it because it is hard to tell what is the best move.If you have empty spaces on the board, you can recover from a bad move.If you don't know what the best move is, you should re-examine where cards are on the board and whether or not you need to change their position.
Take the instance where you can combine multiple stacks of cards at once.The more space you have on the board, the easier it is to bring in new cards.You replace a card with a new one with single moves.You're getting rid of more than one card when you combine multiple cards.That's a good thing.
