Tea bags are supposed to be made.

Without a tea bag, loose tea can be difficult to enjoy, whether you've bought some tea leaves or want to experiment with your own tea blends. There are several ways to quickly make your own tea bags.If you want to enjoy a warm cup of tea in a few minutes, folding a tea bag from a coffee filter or sewing your own cloth bag is an easy way to do that.

Step 1: Cut off the two sides of the filter.

The goal is for the circle to be more of a rectangular shape with two flat sides facing each other and two curved sides. It will be easier to fold into the correct shape. The coffee filter should be disposable. It should be 3 inches across before flattening.

Step 2: You can put your tea inside the filters.

The tea leaves should be placed on the center of the flat filter. There is a recommended serving size for store-bought tea leaves. This can be more or less than a small amount. You can adjust the amount of tea leaves you use. This can take some trial and error.

Step 3: The two flat edges of the filter should be touched.

The pocket will have three open edges. The tea leaves should be in the middle.

Step 4: Roll the edges of the open side towards the tea leaves.

The pocket will be closed one side. You can use small folds to hold the tea leaves securely.

Step 5: You can fold the package in half.

The folded edge should be in the center rather than at the top of the package. The package is a cylinder that you roll towards yourself. The two short ends are touching if you fold it in half.Cut off 4 inch from the open edges if the bag looks too long.

Step 6: Attach the top two corners with twine.

The tea bag should be shaped like an arrow if the two corners of the open edge are folded down.Attach a piece of twine in the center of the folds. Most grocery stores have baker's twine. To create a personalized design, you can staple a decorated piece of paper to the other end of the twine.

Step 7: Cut a square of cloth that is 10 by 10 cm.

This will give you enough room for a small amount of tea leaves. If the tea leaf mixture is good, put two pieces of cloth on top of each other. You can buy it in both fabric stores and grocery stores.

Step 8: The tea leaves should be placed in the center of the cloth.

If there is a recommendation for a serving size with store-bought tea leaves, check it out.It can take some trial and error to figure out the right amount for homemade blends.

Step 9: Pull the corners of the cheesecloth closed.

Take the corners and put the tea leaves in one hand.Place the tea leaves in the other hand and twist it a couple of times.

Step 10: Tie baker's twine around the twist to hold it in place.

To prevent the tea leaves from spilling, tie a tight knot. You can staple the twine to the cheesecloth for extra security.Baker's twine can be found in grocery stores.Unflavored dental floss is a safe alternative if you can't find any.

Step 11: There is a piece of unbleached muslin that is 4 by 3 inches.

Muslin can be purchased at any fabric store.None of the chemicals used in those processes will make it into your tea if the fabric is not dyed or bleached.

Step 12: On one of the long sides, fold the fabric down 2 inch.

This will be used for a rope.Depending on the thickness of the string you are using, you may want to experiment with a different size of casing.

Step 13: There is a case for the draw down.

A piece of string should be placed along the long side of the fabric around 4 inch (0.64 cm) from the edge. The fabric should be folded over the string. To create a tunnel, Stitch the edge of the fabric down.Don't sew over the string.

Step 14: If you want to sew the 2 open edges, you must fold the fabric in half.

The fabric should be folded so that the two short sides touch each other. There are two seams from the edges of the fabric.

Step 15: The bag must be turned inside out.

The bag will have seams in it.To close the bag, you should be able to tug on both ends of the string. To make it look like a store-bought tea bag, you can staple a small square of paper to the end of the string or tie something heavy to it.

Step 16: Take some tea leaves out of the bag and close it.

The tea bag is ready to use.The tea bag has a drawstring. If you want to enjoy a fresh cup of tea, turn it inside out again.
