After many uses, crayons break, become blunt, or become used down to their stubs.Rather than throwing away broken crayons, recycle them into new ones.You can use broken crayons in a variety of crafts and decorate holiday items with them so that the colors get used in other ways in your home.

Step 8: Cut up 2 12 crayons.
The same colored crayons can be used.Cut the crayons with scissors or a knife after removing the wrapper.The pieces should be around 12 to 1 inch in diameter.The crayons should be in a bowl.
Step 9: The flour, salt, and cream of Tartar should be mixed together.
In a large bowl, add 3 cups flour, 1 cup salt, and 2 cups cream of tartar.Combine the dry ingredients with a wooden spoon or whisk.
Step 10: Take the chopped crayons and melt them down.
Put a pan on the stove.When they are completely melted, add the chopped crayons to the pan.Use a spoon to stir the crayons.
Step 11: Two cups of water should be added.
Slowly pour in the water.As the water is added, some crayon types will make a smooth liquid.Either way is fine if the water and crayons are combined.If you want the mixture to be combined, stir it well.
Step 12: The dry ingredients should be added to the dough.
Slowly pour the dry ingredients into the pan.It should be a ball of dough.
Step 13: Let the dough cool before you remove it from the pan.
Take the dough out of the pan and put it on a board.Let it be.
Step 14: Knead the dough to make clay.
The dough needs to be kneaded once it has cooled.Put your palms against the dough and hold it between your hands.The dough should be pushed against the cutting board to be kneaded.When the dough is smooth and elastic, do this a few times.You should have a smooth ball of modeling clay.To make modeling clay in other colors, repeat this process with colored broken crayons.
Step 15: Take the crayons out of the wrappers.
Remove the wrappers from the broken crayons.Put the same colors together and chop them up into small pieces.You can use scissors or a knife.
Step 16: The cup needs to be filled with wax.
Put the wax in the paper cup.The base for the candle will be made of plain wax.
Step 17: It takes 1 minute to microwave.
Place the paper cup in the microwave and heat it up.Then, use a popsicle stick to stir the wax.In 30 seconds, the wax has melted completely.
Step 18: Place the candle in the center with the wax in it.
Carefully pour a thin layer of the wax in the jar.The candle should be placed in the center of the votive.The candle should be hung over the edge.You will cut them later.It burns well if you use a thicker wick.If the candle doesn't stay up on its own, place a popsicle stick over the top of the votive to keep it in place.
Step 19: Cut the crayons.
Put 14 cup wax in the paper cup and top it with a chopped crayon.If you want to make a colored wax, microwave it for two minutes and then in 30 second intervals.
Step 20: The colored wax can be added to the votive.
After 30 seconds, pour the colored wax into the jar.This will be the first part of the candle.The wax can be hardened for 20 to 30 minutes.If you want to add a scent to the candle, you can put a drop of lavender oil in the colored wax.
Step 21: Next, layer the wax on top of each other
Continue to combine the plain wax with the chopped crayons, melting them together in the microwave to create a colored wax.Place the colored wax on top of the votives.After 15 to 20 minutes, put a new layer on.
Step 22: Try out the candle by cutting the wicks.
If you want the candle to sit just above the wax, you need to cut it with scissors.To try them out, light the candles.
Step 23: Christmas ornaments are decorated with crayons.
You will need a hair dryer, broken crayons, and clear glass ornaments to make this craft.The work table should be covered with a newspaper.Similar colors or complimentary colors can be used to chop up the crayons.Pick colors that will compliment each other on the ornament.The ornaments have a stem.Drop the crayon pieces into the ornament.Use the blow dryer to melt the crayon pieces and then move them around in the ornament to create a swirling design.Do not allow the blow dryer to sit on the ornament.When you make the design on the ornament, remove any remaining crayon pieces.You can hang the ornament in your home if you replace the stem.
