The Evaluation Entry System Overview NCOER (SGT) PDF Ncoer Performance Measures can be found on the HRC home page.

There are many resources on the NCOER.Send information to editor@armywriter.com or use the form at the bottom of the page. Thanks!

If your achievements aren't recorded in your annual evaluation, no matter how hard you work or how many hours you put in, all your work will be meaningless.Everything will be as if it never happened.promotions, assignments and other personnel actions are decided by people who don't know you.The most important document in your military career is your NCOER.Your chances for promotion, your assignment options, training opportunities, and your entire future in the Army are affected by that single sheet of paper. No other document has the same effect on you.

The NCOER's content is in your hands. It's like your supervisor told you to fill it in with whatever you wanted. What is written in your evaluation can be determined by you!Your actions and information make it easier for your supervisor to do his job.Make sure you pay attention to it.

Read the names of the two books. The first step in improving your score is understanding how the process works.Don't waste your time on areas that are not in your control.Areas that give the most points first.

Discuss your NCOER with your supervisor. How are you doing and what can you do to improve? This may be the most effective step you can take.Carefully listen to what he or she has to say. It's difficult for supervisors to criticize their troops and they may offer advice in a tone that sounds more like a suggestion than an order. If the meaning of the lines isn't clear, try to read between them. You should act on what your supervisor said.Don't hesitate to ask for further advice if you follow up periodically. They love that.

If you fill out an NCOER, you can see what areas are rated and which ones might be improved. It takes time to change behavior and even longer for others to be aware of it.

Track your performance. When it comes time to provide material for your NCOER, you should write down your accomplishments so that you can remember them. You can be the best troop in the world, but if you can't remember what you did, it's the same as not doing anything.Writing down what you accomplished during the week is the best way to develop a habit that works for you. When you have other writing requirements, like a weekly report or weekly checks, make a habit of recording your accomplishments.Make sure you do it regularly. When it's time to give material for your NCOER, this will pay big dividends.
