The oil pressure gauge fluctuates.

The Oil Pressure Sending Unit was replaced about 7 months ago because the gauge was off.

My oil pressure gauge is usually between 60-70 at cold start-up.

I checked my oil pressure gauge when I started my car because I'm a gauge watcher. It had been sitting for a while since I got off work.I was stopped at a light and noticed that my oil pressure was down to 30 as the light turned green and I accelerated and it rose back up to 60.I checked my oil level when I got home and it was normal.I knew it couldn't have leaked out because there was no puddle in my driveway.

I went home and didn't drive it again last night after I had the oil changed.I'm assuming the oil didn't drop in pressure in that short drive.I noticed it today in a drive where my car had the chance to reach normal operating temperature, which did not go up at all during the fluctuations in the pressure.

It never got down to the red and I'm concerned about that. This is the first time I have had this issue. The only time the oil pressure was low was when I needed to top off my oil.

I think it's better to have more details than just an explanation.

That sounds normal.30psi is a healthy pressure, and should go up as the motor increases its speed.

It's good to know that you're aware of what your car is doing.

30 PSI is an adequate oil pressure for an engine. It's good to have an engine that has your miles on it.Over time, oil pressure will fall because metal parts wear and tolerances increase. This is normal.Good quality products would be used to change the oil and filter. One of the few products that actually work is Engine Restore. It helps to compensate for wear in components. It is beneficial for older engines if it increases your pressure. It sounds like your engine is in good shape and you love it!

The oil pressure in most vehicles will go down. The oil pump is being driven off the engine because it is running at a lower rate. The oil pump's increase pressure.

The oil in the engine is "thicker" when it is cold.
